bcpballer64
Do you hand load your .308? (That is what those are right? I have seen some other calibers labeled ar10 on various websites) What glass is on that one? It's not something I can afford to do right now but I do want to replace what came on my axis eventually. n8ball2013
I will be. Just haven't purchased everything yet. I've got a bunch of brass for it already and yes it's a 308. The glass on there is a millett trs-1. It's junk. I'll be going to something else very soon. It fit the bill at the time but it's really just not very good. bcpballer64
What style reticle do you prefer on longer range stuff? The bushnell that came with my axis isn't terrible, it's ffp but it's just a basic + style reticle. 3-9x40, wish the eye relief was longer "The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- (Thomas Jefferson)
n8ball2013
Well Rolex is way more qualified than I am for this but it depends. I don't shoot really long range. I just don't have the facilities for it. On my woods beater gun I've got a duplex reticle and that's it. On others I have Mil dots. I think if I was going to shoot beyond 500 yards or so I'd really want a specific reticle. So while I've got two more purpose built ars to do I'm kicking around the idea of a 500 dollar beater gun and I have no idea why I misspoke in my above comment it's a second focal plane reticle, which is what I think I will prefer after watching a video from vortex on you tube. Once I get my rifle sighted in I imagine most of my shots will be 100yds, however I am only limited by how far I care to walk my target stand out to at my parents. Maybe rolex will chime in on the reticle topic. And why not have a beater gun? Would be a good one to hand to guests or buddies at the range, that way you don't have to hand someone a couple thousand dollar rifle "The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- (Thomas Jefferson)
