Thanks David

I start out with 80 to get the shape, and then work my way up to 220 for that nice smooth finish.

Thanks, but there's probably 8 hours of sanding on each of those a pillars to get them perfect. Just take your time, and sand a lot more.
-
sand, sand and more sand. Looks like you put the filler on too thick to start, and let it harden too much while applying. Sand all that down smooth, and apply light coats, sanding in between coats.
-
sounds like you didn't add body filler over the glass after you were done, to get them smooth, it's a necessity

easiest way I've seen it done for daily: Buy a 16V alternator setup and a kinetik 16v battery with the 12v post for under the hood (if it'll fit). Then run the 12V post to the car, the 16V posts to the back to another 16V battery, and let it rip. But, alternators running 16V daily usually have a shorter life span.

90 amp fusing, expect around 1000 watts from it

Guy dropped his car off last night, so I had one day to build for it. He had some pretty strict ideas of how he wanted it, so I tried to work within those guidelines. built a top plate first, he wanted a flush appearance: Then cut out the amprack, which will house a pair of Sundown amps. Once he gets the amps in, I'll do a top plate to actually flush the amps into the rack: Then built a simple kerfed center port box, but flushed the subs in to stick with the theme: Then cut out the top plate for the box to fit into, there was no way it would have went in in one piece, so I put the box in first, then slid the plate in over it: Then carpeted everything: Just waiting on him to buy the amps, then I'll make a nice cover over the amprack, and everything will appear flush into the back. Thanks for looking!!!!!

National Guard
stratusrt01 replied to dwright27's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
I spent 13 years on Active Duty, was medically retired due to wounds recieved in Iraq. Now I'm an instructor at the National Guard's Military Academy in NC. 1st of all, everyone knows they can deploy at any time, given the tempo of the current military. It happens, if you enlist now, you know you'll be in Iraq, point blank. I used to be an Army Career Counselor, but it was the Active Duty side, so I can answer a lot of questions, and I work with National Guard everyday, so I can find out anything you need to know. My one word of advice: get what you want in writing. They do guarantee your job, unless you do something to screw it up, they will put you into training. I would say that the guy that posted above couldn't get a security clearance or something like that in order to not get the 96B job, that's usually what gets people. Good Luck, it's a good job if you do it correctly, you can be setup for 4 retirement checks through the National Guard if you play the cards right. -
5 minutes is different than playing music for a couple hours everyday for months on end on low voltage in someone's daily ride. Like I said, time will tell.... I've seen the inside of the 7KD, and there's a reason why it's so small. Just for the record, I have a lot of friends running them right now, however none are seeing daily duty, but on 16-18 volts, they are insane.

crack open a 7KD and compare it to other amps that make that type of power, and you'll see why. It has basically half the components in it, and that means they are being driven hard. I checked one out, and if it was my money, I wouldn't run a 7KD daily. I just don't see them lasting. Only time will tell though, they haven't been around long enough to be beat on, and most of them aren't seeing daily duty.
