  1. So what you need are 70mm^2 cable lugs. The ones available from welder's suppliers and industrial electrical stores are perfect. They are solid heavy gauge copper. The crimp on the cable is just as important as the thickness of the cable. G'luck
  2. Looks nice man. I used to be Kicker's biggest fan. You reckon those are heavy though, the Solo Xs make them look like lightweights
  3. I could probably shoot that thing about 2 car lengths off my windshield
  4. Something's gotta be wrong mate. DD woofers are some of the toughest out there, and even if they've been abused/neglected they shouldn't let up after 1 minute or so, even if it was a little bit of a dodgy recone. If it was reconed wrong you would have known straight away and I doubt you would have continued listening to it if it was on its death legs. Got pics of the enclosure? How were the woofers wired?
  5. Inside the frequency band, it causes less stress on your subwoofer than a sealed enclosure......
  6. I got my ears syringed once (Removes everything) and I swear it made my stereo sound 10dB louder to me, everything was clearer and I felt far happier. Might try it again.
  7. Yeah slapping at a red light is not a good move. Especially when you've got a really loud car, it can actually hurt the ears of people near you and flex the shit out of their car. I usually just give a bit of respect to people around and keep it to a reasonable level. Last thing you want is your car vandalised etc. because you've pissed somebody off.. It is permissible to turn it up though if someone rides up next to you with some beat and thinks they're king shit. Usually a quick stab of my volume knob quietens them down.
  8. Big bass in an MR2? No problem. A mate over here has one with four DD Audio 2510s in two seperate vented enclosures in his, and it's his daily driver. It does 145+dB with the seats in, on a music tune. Not too shabby for a car that "Can't have bass" Up front under the hood-trunk thingo are two DD Audio M3 monoblocks (2700wrms each) and a C4 four channel for front stage duties. A second battey, an Odyssey 1000 is tucked under there as well. It's a work in progress but it looks mean as hell with all that gear stacked in It's primarily built for SQ, but packs a real punch, those downfiring 10s behind the seat make a nice spine kicking feeling and certainly let you know they're there. Fronts are Dynaudio Esotec 3 way components in custom door pods. They sound fantastic. Fibreglassing the enclosure, every cube counts! Just an idea of what you can get from one, not the best for SPL in no way but great fun! Credits have to go to a very talented installer who made it all fit, Simon Kerr from Alberts Cannington in West Australia. If you're over this side of the world definitely check the shop out.
  9. Plus the Power HX2 look bad ass!! My buddy used to have four 10" Power HX2, they looked like monsters!! Some of RF's best looking woofers in my eyes.
