  1. Wall! Have you considered 2 18"s in a wall like Steves Civic?
  2. I know Steve already has a plan for the Hoopty wheel, but I saw this and just had to post....Gotta admit, it would be cool in black leather with the Caddy logo! http://www.lazerwerks.com/steeringwheels.htm **Steve, you can delete this post if you want.
  3. Not trying to start a war here, cause I know some of you guys have them, but is it illegal to replace an airbag steering wheel with an aftermarket wheel w/o airbag??? Yes, I am aware of the safety concerns, and looking at a $400 factory leather/carbon fiber insert wheel for my PT is kinda expensive! Just curious.
  4. Pimped's Mini Cooper... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...;hl=mini+cooper And Neo's PT.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=31251
  5. Yep, that's badass as usual, Cadillac should be taking note of this, that's a perfect color/pattern/theme!
  6. Steve, I know you got it under control, but keep in mind that LEDs on the back of the console will be directly visible in the mirrors. I didn't know it would be so obvious until I put LEDs on the front edge of the tunnel in mine - aimed up and back into the mirrors. If there was a way to get the tunnel to glow colors without the actual LEDs being visible in the mirrors I know you will find it. (Kinda like the EXT, in all the vids I saw, the actual LEDs were never visible). Anyway you do it, I know it's gonna look badass!
  7. They are great cars, I had a new (back in) 1998 red Jetta GT, and I really miss that car....lost her in a flood VW/Audi are really great cars that many people don't take the time to learn much about.
  8. Sometimes it's good just to be able to talk about it and express your feelings.
  9. Just take it one day at a time, man. Never forget that there are still many of us 'civilians' out here that have nothing but total respect for you guys and what you have to do over there!
  10. If you are running 12"s...even ported, you will have tight bass. I noticed a difference in dropping from 15"s sealed to 12"s ported, and the 8" midbasses will help you even more. If you go ported, try a compromise of ~35hz tune, that will give you decent depth and will still work with rock music too. I wanted a 35 hz tune, but 'settled' for 38 hz due to airspace limitations. Mine really shines on '80s and rock music, and lacks the ultra lows, seems to be loudest right at 40hz.
  11. You have to decide which will work best for the music YOU listen too. If you gotta live with it everyday, you want it to be good for you. 90% of the people here don't care anything about general sound quality, so you will get lots of advice about how to make it loud. If you gotta listen to real music on it everyday, a nice tuned ported enclosure is still the best, but you don't have to tune it way low.
  12. Cool, I wonder if this album is available on iTunes??? Oh and....vid of Hoopty playing some Down????
  13. Piano/Organ, tried acoustic guitar , and now a beginner on the Violin.
  14. Thanks guys, I had heard about changing the channel, but will try all these when I get home. Somethings gotta work!
  15. How much to do a PT center console over like that????? ...just playin, but that does look awesome!
  16. Thanks, I'll contact them when I am ready. I plan to wait until tax return time, so I can buy all three amps and an MLA module at the same time. I am still undecided, but the smaller VFLs might work for me, not sure if Hifonics has a 2 ohm 2400 watt mono class D or not.
  17. Hmmm, maybe a smaller VFL and a 160.4 for the mids and highs??? So how can I tell what they are rated at 2 ohms?? The site says that VFL are all 1 ohm stable, and shows only one RMS rating so I figured that rating is at 1 ohm. Each set of 4 subs in my wall is 4-ohms, so my options are 4 ohm or 2, cause I REALLY don't want to climb in there and rewire 8 dual voice coil subs!
  18. Looking at the fuse ratings on that amp, I think it's too much for me.
  19. Thanks, still researching, any comments on how power hungry they are? My car idles at and is limited to 13.5v and currently has no voltage drop at all. MLA module could take me to 14.6v. I have a 120 amp factory alt. (Trying to avoid a high output alt $400 ).
  20. New router is a D Link, just the basic one, and the old one was linksys. The network card is built into the laptop. Marvel Topdog or something like that.
  21. The American Bass website shows RMS ratings for the VFL series amps, but I am guessing that the rating is measureed at 1 ohm(???) Anyone know if there is a VFL that will do ~2400 watts x1 at 2 ohms mono, or one that will do ~1200 watts x2 at 4 ohms?
  22. I have had my laptop with wireless internet for almost a year now with no problems. Recently it has been intermittently disconnecting from the internet every so many hours. I replaced my wireless router and the modem is fine. When it happens, it says that Windows can not find any wireless networks, but the router is ok, modem is ok, and it works fine if I plug it in directly to the modem. I have read online about Windows having to check security every few hours with an internet connection and am wondering if that has anything to do with it. Its got to be a Windows problem. Started a few weeks ago. Any ideas?
  23. Realm Of Excursion website, or iTunes has them if you have an iPod.
