I agree, it's gotta be for ease of installation. The factory RKE on my PT is so integrated into the car, I guess it is easier to include it. One advantage is the that the aftermarket sensors will connect directly to the alarm, so you can add whatever you like, whereas adding aftermarket sensors to the factory alarm takes some work. I will ask my installer friend your question next time we meet, maybe he can give a better answer.

If you can....stagger the 4 10"s on top and port the back, square port like Steve has. Lots of cabin gain back there in a PT!

Nothing wrong with the Pizza biz. I worked for "the Hut" for 13 years before (and during) college and worked my way into mgt. Only left after graduating college for my current government job for less hours and more money. At least you already know what it is like to have to work for your money! Keep in mind that you can be pretty happy managing a restaurant, but the hours will usually suck. 55 minimum when I was last there, 80 average weekly. Forget about the cook, and shift leader, let your store manager and AGM know that you are looking to move up. They will be afraid of losing you when you graduate college, unless you are a business mgt major. Not too many people are serious about managing a pizza place, so they might start working with you now to prepare you to manage your own store! If you do, find a friend, hard working serious coworker to take with you as your asst mgr someday. the 80 hour week comes around when you can not trust anyone with your store while you work out all the kinks, or they expect you to save a store that is going out of business!

I am about to use an interface kit to install a Clifford alarm to supplement the factory alarm in my PT, which I have 'hacked' into to add sensors, siren, and additional LEDs. I have a buddy who is a retired pro installer, and he says that there are a few wires that connect to the car from the bypass, then the aftermarket alarm connects to the bypass. The factory alarm stays intact and is controlled via the aftermarked alarm, so you lose the factory remote. I am in no way trying to discount taking it to a pro installer, but I want to learn to do this myself, and having an expert friend nearby will make it easier for me. There are a few pro installers here that will post up more info. You can search the web for the manual/diagram for your particular bypass kit to see how it connects to your car. **EDIT, look for a member named Shyne for good advice.

Oh, they'll get loud if you can get them an honest 300 watts each! Keep in mine that I am running only ~137 watts per sub rms. For the record, I got mine for $20 each sub! Logan, you could fit a whole bunch in that Ford! Go on youtube and seach for wizkid's 8 12"s and see what they do with a huge port and more power!

You guys realize that these are bass "reduction" knobs right? They don't offer any gain. They go from 0 db to -12db. I have one in my PT. **Edit: I use it for when the playstation is on, to turn the subs down.

No the "key dance" will only display the codes, NOT clear them. To clear them, you would have to disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes. I was gonna say, any chance the old sensor has been laying around out of the car for a long time and is no good, maybe a new one would help. I'll keep looking for more info and post any more info that I can find. I think I remember seeing that you had a second battery where the airbox used to be??? I guess you had no chioce but to run one of those open air filters. PT's don't like the heat that those things are exposed to. Airaid is the best intake for a PT, or you can use a factory PT Turbo airbox lid (smaller). Did you keep the factory IAT with the intake?

I'll do some research on the other code. 1193: P1193-INLET AIR TEMP SENSOR VOLTAGE HIGH When Monitored and Set Condition: P1193-INLET AIR TEMP SENSOR VOLTAGE HIGH When Monitored: With the ignition on and the engine running. Set Condition: The inlet air temperature sensor voltage at the PCM goes above 4.9 volts. POSSIBLE CAUSES SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN IAT SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN IAT SENSOR IAT SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE WIRING HARNESS INTERMITTENT Turn the ignition on. With the DRB, read the PCM DTCs. Is the Good Trip Counter for P1193 displayed and equal to zero? All Yes ® Go To 2 No ® Go To 7 2 Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the IAT Sensor harness connector. Start the engine and allow it to idle. Measure the voltage of the IAT Sensor Signal circuit. Is the voltage above 5.5 volts? Yes ® Repair the IAT Sensor Signal circuit for a short to voltage. Awesome! Lookin real good and I know stoppin much better too! Don't sweat the rain, with those huge wheels it's gotta be pretty easy to get your hands in there to clean the calipers, and if they are painted/coated red, you can hit em up with some wax! I use Meguiars detailer on my painted calipers.

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to infer that you couln't do them yourself, its just since you are doing all 4 corners, a shop with a rack would be best, and the pros can bleed them in no time and get the fluid and pressure right. Plus, isn't it nice sometimes to just pay to let someone else bust their knuckles on your ride! I have to ask, since I think you already touched on the subject... When you added the 26"s could you really notice any decrease in braking? Why do people say you HAVE to get big brakes when you go with wheels that big?

What is this Snow stuff people keep talking about??? ....j/p Austin Texas here, we don't get snow. A good ice day and the city shuts down the highways....and I get a day off of work! I only drove in it once in Boston Mass and the roads were pretty clear at the time, just take your time, and think smooth, no sudden quick movements with the brakes or steering.

I am REALLY glad you are almost done, too! Now I won't see something I gotta have every time you post up new pics! You already got me thinking about ideas for my new center console, and its only been in the car for a week! Dammit!
