  1. That's CRAZY, Steve! http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif You better thank your wife for standing there for that! ....must have been LOUD! ...neighbors are probably looking around the sky for a helicopter landing on their roof!
  2. I can't say it enough how amazing this build is, it just keeps getting better every time you add another piece to it! Every addition inspires the rest of us to bigger and better builds! Simply awesome work man!!!
  3. All his music is on that site that you guys posted here on SMD, TJDJ or something where new music is posted before it is released. He has a lot of good songs.
  4. Yeah, I checked into them, but can only guess that BMW dealer is the only source. Audi has a nice loud unique siren, too, but $150 at dealer! I am content with the 514T as my previous Code alarm siren and Floyd Bell mini siren were both way to quiet. I went with tone #6 and it'll scare the crap out anyone who is close to the car, so it'll have to do. Thanks Ray.
  5. Birch was much easier to work with for me.
  6. I found this how to article on the web, and thought I'd post it here for anyone interested. It's a good how to on adding a homelink transmitter to your car if it did not come with one (usually in the drivers side sunvisor). A little soldering of wires and mounting some buttons and a LED light and you're all set up! Programmin them takes a little more work depending on your garage door opener. I plan to score one on eBay, and install it in my 06 center console project. http://ted.drain.googlepages.com/homelink_index.html
  7. Thanks guys, I ended up using an old 514T I had in my garage, 128 db, just had to pop it open and cut a few wires to select the sound I wanted from the 6 tones. Good to go now!
  8. I monitor voltage up front through the OBD port, so I ran my stinger gauge to the rear battery.
  9. Thanks, not sure but those BMW alarms might have been made by Alpine. What ever hapened to Alpine alarms, oh and VSE alarms too, remember the Quantum?
  10. Anyone know of an alarm siren with a nice loud unique sound that would be different from all the rest out there? Scytek has a programmable one SR-25...and the Clifford 514C is also programmable. Any others?
  11. That's badass! A shuttle launch is widely considered to be one of the loudest things on earth! Definitely something I want to watch in person in my lifetime! 147 db at 20 hz and 1300 ft from the source!
  12. I bought a used console out of a wrecked PT, (newer design than my console)....anyway I plan to sand it smooth, repaint it and want to replace the leather armrest cover with dark grey suede to match my seats. Anyone know of a good online source where I can order a small piece of suede for this project?
  13. Good job Charger! Congrats! ....and keep posting up more vids!
  14. Add another L7 to your current one?
  15. Tuning a box to a specific frequency requires a port of proper size and volume, and also specific airspace for each sub. Do you know what the box is tuned to right now? I would start with getting someone who really knows how - to double check the wiring to see what the ohms really are, and also check them for phase issues. Nothing against your wiring guy, but 3 subs can get confusing especially if they are dual voice coil. Next is the truck supplying enough power to feed those amplifiers? Also, general setup comes to mind. I am getting more and more out of my new setup each time I do more adjusting with it.
  16. 2 15"s ported should be nice in that car. However, you'll be adding some weight to the back end of the car.
  17. New head unit is Sirius satellite ready, so I'm switching over from XM. Who's running Sirius and how do you like it?
  18. And I bet curbs are no problem for the X either!
  19. Welcome! ...fasten your seatbelt, SMD is a roller-coaster of a ride! There's a lot of this..... :hairtrick: ...a little of this..... :01nocomment8so: ...and some of this..... ...most of the time it's this... ....occassionaly this..... .....and if you don't behave yourself, you get this..... :ban:
  20. I've had mine for a few weeks now, it's my second Eclipse head unit and I love it. If you want the microphone to do the auto eq, you can find them online for $20, but you will also need to buy a 128mb memory stick and a memory stick reader for your computer. The ipod adaptor is about $40. It takes about a week or so to get used to all the features, but once you get familiar, it's a great deck! I got mine for $250 brand new, or new old stock, some places are still selling them for over $500.
  21. Just in case some didn't know already, iTunes has a few of the older USACi discs/music available, and plenty of bass songs and test tones, too. Just an FYI for those of us loading up on music for new builds or those of you more 'seasoned' members looking for something to add to your collection.
  22. Nice vids man, I'm starting to think you keep one hand on the power lock button, to slow people down when they try to get out!
  23. Damn, every time I see a new vid of the Asstro, it seems even louder! The roof looks like its moving pretty good in that vid despite the frame rate of the camera.
