well the xxx can handle 3 times the amount of power that the kappas can. I am running around 600 watts to this set alone. I own kappa 6x9s in my rear also, but i am taking them out as there is simply no need and i dont have another amp to run them on since im running the fronts active. so the 6x9s arent even playing anymore and i cant tell anyhow lol. as far as them blowing my mind....well yes and sort of. as far as midbass goes fuckin A it blows my mind. damn near full tilt and they take all the power like its nothing. and i test their limits everyday and they keep wanting more. the tweeters are meh. give them a lot of power and they're decent. I could do without them though.

i wouldnt be so quick to rule the amplifier bad. if all else fails run the comps passive and see what happens. That will ensure that something is probably setup wrong when running passive.

ok, next thing to check is that the crossover on the amplifier is set to pass on both sides, or off, whichever the amp has. Make sure one isnt accidently stuck on lpf or something silly. again, can I have the head unit model and make. and the crossover model and make. That would help out a lot. and im assuming you are running another pair of RCAs from the head unit to your crossover from the "rear" outputs...maybe labeled mid?

what head unit do you have? did you accidently plug one of the RCAs into a non fader? double check. I did the same thing a week ago... Im almost certain you have an RCA plugged in wrong or speaker wires plugged in wrong. That and I dont know what slopes you are setting the crossovers at... and 2500 may be a little low for the tweets. they are 1 inch so bigger than others but i would turn them up a hair. i would be concerned at high volumes for them.

not a facepalm. he is aware that he is running active. I was asking whether is deck can run active without the alpine crossover before the amp. OP can you please post a link to the crossover you are using? and you are using two pairs of RCAs right? well actually you would have to or you would have no sound on 2 of the speakers lol.

the stock crossovers are high passed at 100 hz for those comps. so i guess you are running active. Like someone above said, try turning up the hpf a little and see what happens. sounds to me like something is crossed over wrong, check all the rca cables. also try a steeper slope for the lpf on the mids and see what happens. double edit: can your pioneer run active?

yea i can see how the vids are boring. very exciting in real life though. these guys have really come to life.

well since i finally got them crossed over and running active to the point where it sounds kick ass, figured id share a vid real quick. Vibrates my chest pretty good.... and yea, they are eating around 200 watts each like its scooby snacks. please excuse the plain mdfbaffles. i had to throw more wood sealer on them, they will be wrapped soon in whatever i think matches well with the doors. oh yea theyre band passed at 80 and 2500 each at 12 db octave i believe. dunno if the vids show it but theyre hoppin out of the doors pretty good in real life more vids soon. I just uploaded a gorilla zoe one and its already copyright protected so theres no audio...wtf

I was downing the eclipse because i thought it didnt have a usb too but i just checked and i was wrong. while it doesnt have bandpass capabilities like the clarion it does have a hpf and lpf settings with other useful features. no pause button is kinda weird lol. But theres no question that the internal build is more stout than any of the other decks mentioned. again user interface sucks. OP if you're really looking for an sq deck then none of them are really it lol. the cd7000 is the lowest model from eclipse that i would consider "sq". Damn I wish i can sell my 7k and find an mkII for a good price PS that clarion deck is ugly as shit.

The clarion has the most processing abilities. dont know about their reliability. But they have time alignment, the ability to go three way and has 6 volt pre outs. The kenwood has the second most capabilities, not sure if its 3 way but it has time alignment which is nice if you're going active. The pioneer is good for the money, but falls short in sq capabilities. dual usb is pretty sweet though. The 5100 lacks general features and is pretty unfriendly to use. same format as my cd7000, but has way less features. other than a strong pre out voltage and nice guts inside, this unit offers nothing compared to others on the list. the alpine has good user features and has blue tooth which is nice, but lacks sq features unless you get the imprint which will cost extra. I never understood why the hell alpine is sticking with 2 volt pre outs.... but yea i would choose clarion first then kenwood second....good luck with everything

this is a very simple fix dude lol. if you have no voltage drop right after the fuse, then its between there and the end obviously lol. take out the wire and inspect it.

theres no check engine light. the high pitched noise is ruled as engine noise in the tweeters. It stopped doing it so Im assuming maybe a sensor being trippy...maybe the aic was messing up again. Thanks for the help anyways guys.
