    according to MANY studies...not just one....a lot less people (including younger ones) are smoking (percentage wise). yes i understand the population is growing too lol. maybe its the fact that there is more advertising against it now, or the fact that prices have sky rocketed....I dont know how people in Canada or New York can still afford to live when smoking.

    not really, the way we talk to each other now was something you started a fight over back then. And have you noticed the number of kids back talking their parents. Back then you would get a fist to your face. Not to mention the respect for teachers in school. I understand the grown ups had the sailors tongue, but not the younger kids so much.

    re read what i said in my post. I stated that your post wasn't harmful in that regard. I am speaking of the misinformation around this place in general.... but on another note your subsonic filter and HPF are backwards.

    I think the point is that misinformation could lead to shit getting fucked up in this hobby. People come here for advice and put trust in us, I would feel bad if i misinformed someone and in return their amp goes up into smoke. What he said wasnt harmful in that regard, but he did kinda miss a key component in the answer. But I agree, we should all lighten up a bit.

    Decaf is correct. if you grounded your amps to the frame, add a wire from the frame rail to the alt -, also from the battery negative to the frame rail.

    keep your money...you arent going to see any spl gains with the amp or anything, unless you wanna rock JL gear...then go for it. nice price but is it worth it to you? sell the memphis amp if you buy this one, no harm done.

    any time you convert a signal, you lose quality. Also, most decent head units out today have far more sound staging capabilities than something stock....such as time alignment, frequency band settings, and things like that. as far as pre outs. Im not sure how powerful line out converters are, but the lower the pre out voltage, the harder the amp has to work.

    the gain only adjusts how fast it reaches full potential. Ideally you want to match the source voltage with the amp, in which case the gain may not need to be set high at all. and btw Neel just said the same thing....lols....
