Cool. That is what I was thinking I was going to have to do with the accessory wire. Well- from what I have read at least. I am going to end up running an 8 awg power run from the battery to the head unit and processor anyway. I don't have any problems running wires, I just want to be sure the car doesn't go all crazy. I've seen some stuff out there that says all kind of warning lights go crazy. I want it to be close to factory as possible... just an aftermarket HU. Freakin' Chevy making stuff difficult. lol Thanks on the Axxess Interface Module suggestion- I will check it out.

Hey guys, I am about to put in a 7" DVD Touchscreen in my Wife's 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. It is also getting a 5.1 processor as well- no external amps, just what the HU and Processor have. What am I about to get into as far as Head Unit harnesses go? I really only need power, ground and switched on to the HU, as I will be running new speaker wires anyway. My question is this: should I just wire it up myself or is there an easy/inexpensive Harness I can use? The usual stuff (stores and Google) aren't really coming up with any winners so far. Vehicle Info: 2003 Chevy TrailBlazer Regular Stereo (not Bose) Has On-Star, but we don't use it. Any help or experience is appreciated!

This isn't mine, but I have one of these. Well... 2 actually. And they still work! ...but really, what is there to break? TRS-80 -
THAT is the Real Deal right there. Movie link: http://cinemeccanica.wordpress.com/2011/05/25/you-can-lock-your-car-but-if-he-wants-it-its-gone-in-60-seconds/ My man. I LOVE the original movie. The redo with Cage and Jolie is an abomination!!! I have H. B. Halicki's original Gone in Sixty Seconds on VHS and then the one they re-released on DVD. I am PISSED about how they redid all of the original music with- well... crap. Some of the original music (I love this stuff): ^ my favorite song in the movie. GREAT song. http://youtu.be/cTXmeIjT9kM

Sounds good! Those older Alpines are nice. I remember when the V12 series came out. They are nice! Yep- been looking into those. I really dig the first and second generation PPI series though. Thanks on the suggestions. Thanks- but if he is high then scratch it. I am looking for low prices. Pretty much as in free when people don't know what they have. lol! -

I didn't leave the Linear Power amps out of the list because of quality- but because of price. lol Trust me, I have been all through LPs for sale, been all over the website and on and on. I would love to do a vehicle straight decked out with Linear Power amps and Blues Audio speakers- all made in the USA, and in Mississippi no less. Right now it just isn't in the budget. I know you get what you pay for, but I think it would be really fun to have a system amped by some old school unicorns. -
Ok... so I am on an Old Amplifier Kick. And I mean old. I pretty much don't want it unless it has the wires coming from the amp. No terminal posts... so, 1992ish and older, USA made. Do any of you guys have specific suggestions on amps to look for? I've been looking through old PPI, ZED, Hifonics, Orion, etc... but I need a bit more help. And if any of you guys have any and want to part with them, hit me up with a PM. Just know... I am a cheapskate. lol Thanks all!

I would lean towards Selenium... for no other reason that they have been around longer (If I am thinking correctly).

i can answer that because we live in a NOW nation. we want things now. we dont want to save up for 6 years to be able to buy a new car we want it now. Exactly. I need to be more clear I guess when I say "Cash"- I don't carry more than like $20 ever. When I say Cash I mean a cash backed Bank Account Debit card. Debit Cards (as long as they are a Master Card or Visa, etc...) are insured exactly like Credit Cards are. So- your money is safe. Sure- if it gets stolen and someone makes charges, it sucks for a minute.... but if you didn't make the charges, then all of the funds are returned to your bank account. I'm not telling anyone how to do what they do- this just works for me. -

Can I ask a crazy question though.... Why do you want credit? Cash is king. Debt is evil. Like I said, I didn't feel like saving up for my house (b/c the wife wouldn't go for it), but Anything else can easily be purchased with cold hard cash. I've never had a car payment and never will. Just pay yourself the monthly payment and pocket all the interest you Would be paying the bank. They will actually pay you! Then step up with a wad of cash. When my wife and I purchased her TrailBlazer a good while ago, you should have seen the looks on the people's faces. The first thing they asked was "How?" -the second thing they asked was "How old are you?" It is fun stuff. -

All bills (power, water, trash, cable, etc...) in your name. Pay them on time or early- ALWAYS. Small Credit card and pay it off FULLY every month. Just remember- a Good Credit Score is an "I love Debt" score. The better your credit score, the more you love debt. I built mine to help get a good Home Mortgage. After that- I have used ZERO credit cards, loans, advances, etc... other than my Mortgage. Here is how it is calculated: http://www.myfico.com/crediteducation/whatsinyourscore.aspx
