  1. they can only tell if the box has an electrical short, due to the cooler. So you've got a 50/50 chance all is good. My guess is that a very low percentage of people have had the issue, but it was big enough for MS to look into to protect themselves from loosing money.
  2. Yeah microsoft is picking on that device in particlular, due to the fact that the Nyco is sharing the power supply, thus robbing it of power.
  3. hey dude..heads up on the Nyko. I was glad I found this before I bought one. Apparently Microsoft is saying that Nyko voids your warranty, due to it possibly shorting out the system and here are some other noted issues. http://forums.xbox.com/8994704/ShowPost.aspx
  4. Ok guys...well the wife ended up getting me a 360 for xmas...and got a couple of questions. I'm curious to know how everyone's is holding up? Before I opened up the box , I've been doing some reading up on the 360 and I can't believe the overwhelming threads that I read about how the 360 is crap, always overheating, freezing, scratching discs..etc. So I am seriously debating whether to keep this thing or return it. My purpose is not to bash the 360 one bit, I'm just curious of real world experience. Has anyone had any problems with the 360 and was the support good enough to keep the box, thats it!
  5. Hell yah...wife got me a 360 for xmas..so I'm down. Just gotta go get the game(s) and the live membership..let me know and its oonnnn
  6. I'd definatly reccomend a 4 stroke. A couple of years ago I had a Yami 1200xl 3 person. Though it was fast as hell, tons of lakes here are banning 2 strokes, due to emissions, so of course I was forced to tell it.
  7. Yeah I know..left work at 3, got home at 6 and the roads are icy as fuck. Already got about 4 inches on the ground, on top of what we already have :angry03:
  8. 2 freek'n blizzards a week apart. I still have 3-4 foot drifts all over my neighborhood an all of the roads are still covered in ice and now we are going to get up to another 24 inches...talk about crazy. Kev http://wwwa.accuweather.com/news-top-headl...ther&traveler=0 (State College, PA) - For the second time in a little more than a week, a major snowstorm is bearing down on Denver and the western Plains. The snow is falling; however, the heavy snow will arrive by later today and last through tonight. The snow will ease during the day on Friday before returning with a vengeance late on Friday. By the time this storm is finished, as much as 2 feet of snow will fall, likely leading to another round of travel woes heading into the New Year's holiday weekend. In a repeat of last week's massive blizzard that paralyzed Denver, Colo. and much of the surrounding area with two to three feet of snow and nearly four feet in several locations, this system is drawing in abundant moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. Last week's storm that shut down Denver International Airport for 45 hours moved more quickly than the approaching storm. With the slow speed of the current storm, it is possible that Denver and surrounding areas will receive an additional 12 to 24 inches of snow.
  9. If you stomp on the gas and have a delay before anything happens, more than likely your carb is set way to rich.
  10. Sounds like a similar problem to what beatitouttheframe was having. Read through this post and see if it doesn't help any http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/forums/in...hp?topic=2596.0
  11. Yeah, but next time needs to be because your putting down like 500 ponies and can't keep traction ;D
  12. No worries dude..thats why steve invited me here..... Just holla if you need more help
  13. Unfortunately, I do not have any documentation on the quadrajet 650 that you mentioned, but most carbs work the same way. You have a high side and a low side needle. your low side needle should unscrew outwards, thus giving you more fuel. You want to just play with that screw until you get a good smooth idle. But you want to adjust it really slowly, like a 1/4 turn at a time, unless you know someone that is good at adjusting carbs. Once you can get a smooth idle and keep the car running, then get it down to a mechanic and have them adjust the high side and fine tune it. There really is an art to adjusting carbs and I in no way am a carb expert. I leave that work to the pro's.
  14. The black is usually a sign of over fueling (running rich), but my guess is that the gun oil is what is causing the blackness. (Sorry no camera phone) I would start with adjusting the carb to give you more fuel...start with a 1/4 turn at a time (unless the instructions say otherwise, as every carb is different in adjusting and I know the quadrajet is picky). That should at least get you to where you can get some fuel in the motor, pass all of the oil through and get an idle. Somehow, you've gotta get some gas in motor and get rid of that oil!! And to whom put that oil in your motor...punch'em in the gut for me, for being stupid.
  15. First off, the oil isn't helping any. Second, if your plug is whitish...then immediately that tells me that your running lean. You need go adjust the carb and give it more fuel.
  16. So if it will not idle on its own when cold, does any of this change when the vehicle is warmed up? Have you had anyone adjust the card or verify its jetting? Also, when did the problem start and is it consistant? (what changed on the vehicle to make this problem start??) It sounds to me that your running way lean and burning oil. No matter if your straight piped or not, you should not be seeing any smoke. But if you have to keep your revs up to idle, then your definately not running rich (usually when running rich, you can still maintain an idle, but it will be rough). As running rich, your vehicle would die when giving it gas, as you would just be feeding it more gas. Make sense? EDIT: Your post above has me thinking...as you said that it died when you stood on the pedal...now the symptoms are conflicting. Can you pull one of your plugs and look at the tip? What color is it. That is going to be the only what that we can tell if your running rich or lean and or if this is even your problem.
  17. yeah your on the right track, them T connectors are easy to swap. Just make sure your truck is on flat ground and you got a piece of wood or something behind your tires to keep your ride from rolling.
  18. What I'm guessing though is that if he had the same problem with the stock carb, before the switch, then going to a new carb might not be the solution. I need to konw what the symptoms were both pre and post carb swap, to narrow the issue down.
  19. A freak'n blizzard (30+ inches of snow starting last wednesday, lasting through friday) and a weekend full of shovelling. The wife and I haven't been able to leave the house to celebrate x-mas with the family yet...lol :cold:
  20. can you post more details on this close pod filter, as I've never heard of them before. Kev
  21. southern_pokey - I wouldn't screw around with aftermarket cables. Brakes are a pretty important item to have. I'd go to either an autoparts store or a dealer and just purchase the cable that is meant for your vehicle. This is a common problem for trucks and the cable if fairly cheap. I think the last one I purchased was under $25. Plus if you get the cable that is meant for your truck, it will have the connectors already for you to put in place. For my truck, all you have to do is get underneath it the driver door and there is a screw on connector. Pop the old connector off, pop the new cable in place. use some electrical tape to tape the old broken cable to the new on and pull the old one out, which pulls the new on in place. Put the new cable on your brake release and adjust it. It's really simple. I'm not to familiar with your make/model of truck, but it can't be much different, pm me if you have any questions. Kev
  22. Hey guys, sorry for the late response. We were a little under the weather here :cold: and internet connectivity was really flakey. Ok, so couple of questions. 1) So was your idle messed up before the purchase of the new carb? (I believe the answere is yes, and was why you purchased a new carb). 2) With the old carb on, what was happening, please describe in general. 3) If you were having the problem with the old carb, as the problem does sound like fuel delivery, have you checked your fuel filter?
