yeah, just a friendly piece of advice, your trans was not designed to hold 300hp, Guaranteed. Typically a stock auto tranny only has about 60-66% efficiency. The reason why the efficiency rating is so low out of the factory, is that it helps them gain a smooth shifting pattern. So before you start adding power to your engine, address your tranny first and formost and then approach the engine. What I had to do on all of my tranny's was get a more efficient TC (I went with a 91% from DTT Trans), plus I had them replace my VB with a more powerful one and adjust the pressures according to my power band and then upgrade my clutchpack to a 6 pack. From that my truck was able to hold over 500hp. Keep in mind too, that this was about $3500 in parts/labor. Hense the reason why I will never buy another auto for personal use. The only reason for an auto is on the drag strip

southern_pokey - your right, that motor was all setup backwards and it definately does take a lot of time and money to get that motor putting out 350 to the tires on pump gas. But as beatitouttheframe said...his cure was NOS. NOS is a bandaid solution for any motor to get good numbers and trust me I've seen some mad numbers from NOS (well..and some dead motors ) I'm not callin you out beatitouttheframe, but what kind of nondrug numbers does she put out? I know one of the hot rod buildoffs where a team was going to use a 307 and rebuild it up to 350/400 hp, said that it was just to costly. Also, with swapping out the cam, how did you keep from having to replace the lifters? Typically aftermarket cams give you more aggressive lobes, making you have to change out the lifters and timing chain along with adjusting the timing of the valves? BTW, here's the hot rod buildoff that I'm referring to: http://www.popularhotrodding.com/enginemas...305em_gmachine/ Kev

I've just read a lot of threads of people complaining about engine noise coming through the deck and that it led back to an internal grounding issue. -

I hear the 880 is off the hook...well except for the grounding issue. Definately post up pics... of the equipment and the install -

When it comes to mechanical items outside of the hood....Burrito's your man. Sounds like to me you need a new axle -
Nah, this wouldn't have anything to do with the gauges going haywire, it is definately an electrical problem. Also, connections to the battery wouldn't be the issue either, unless the battery was shorted. As the car is pulling current from the alternator once the vehicle is started. It really sounds like a relay issue to me. When i had this same problem 2 years ago, was because the main fuse on my PDU blew (the big ole 140 amp fuse that of course costed like $50 to replace). Kev
