  1. emperorjj1 - Congrats on the car. First off to clear a misnomer on turbos. Turbo's don't require a turbo timer, but the main reason why they are suggested is because the general population doesn't understand them. First off...turbo's are lubricated by engine oil...engine oil gets hot as we all know, so its just a matter of taking an extra 15-30 seconds to let the turbo cool off and whine down. Next..before we get to far head of the budget for modding, what kind of boost are you seeing on that charger? You might be better off for the mean while, squeezing some more boost out of it :^ I would first see what you can get out of your motor, then see what other options are available if you are not happy. Just my $.02 Kev
  2. David... How you gonna speak about how hot she is and not post a picture? :-X
  3. Ok here's the scoop. All computer equipment runs over Dc..even though you plug it into AC. If you actually grab any power supply, power adapter..etc and read the power label on it, it will show you what the input/output power is. So Actually the power supplies are converting from AC to DC, so your adapter will be 12volt over DC. Example, I have a Cisco Pix firewall that I am working through right now, the power supply says Input: 100-240volt 100mA Output: 3.3v 4550mA Hope this helps :^
  4. Trust me..your statement above is incorrect. Go to a DHRA race and you'll see the truth. I can give you a list of at leat 20 CTD's in which are below 11's in the quarter and one guy in particular that drives a ford with a CTD. Teh 7.3 is an inferior diesel when it comes to engine mods. Why? Because of fuel delivery. Yes, I raced for 5 years and ate up lots of 7.3s and know this from experience. Sorry man.. Here's a video for your enjoyment. Both trucks have CTD's....Yes the blue ford (his name is Madddog) cleaned out his 7.3 and dumped it for a ctd. http://www.nhrda.com/Videos/FD2006-01.wmv
  5. Get some public web space to host on and go out to www.godaddy.com and purchase your domain name. Godaddy seems to be the cheapest out there.
  6. Sounds like she just needs a complete rebuild. If you have the original disks, you might want to just save your data off to like CDR's and then put in the original cd's. They will actually prompt you through the rebuild. Believe it or not, its pretty automated now a days and you'll laugh when you see how easy it is. Wish I could help..unfortunately I'm out in CO. Feel free to IM me with any questions and I'll do what I can to help out. Kev
  7. Yep, that's where it all begins. Just remember, more Hp results in lower fuel mileage. With the cost of fuel now a days, you just gotta weigh if more HP is worth the additional dent in the pocket book. Also, Keep in mind that additional HP stresses the tranny more. I'm pretty sure the 4.7 only has an auto tranny backing it (correct me if I'm wrong). Auto Trannies are not cheap to upgrade either.
  8. If/when you find some stuff..just post up here or IM me on MSN and I'll be more then willing to answer any questions
  9. I'd start with Dreamweaver. Its very easy and straight forward to use.
  10. Steve into electronics? NO way. I should throw up some underground pics of my Data Center... I've been managing Data Centers and Large Networks for 10 years now. I'm with Steve..I'll lend a hand and answer questions anytime I can.
  11. Guys, sorry for the lack of response lately. Just got back from a long vacation. But I'm back and settled in, so I'll be more responsive now..Kev
  12. As steve said, and Exhaust and Intake are the first items to get. They help the car breath better. But remember, if you want it to go faster, that means you need to be injecting more fuel. So your next step needs to be looking towards some type of programmer.
  13. Nice bike bro...I'm totally into bikes. I got an 05 R1 as my canyon carver/track bike (with an 07 on order) and my wifes got an 06 GSXR-750. Numbers aren't to bad...but I hope you know that you can gain some more HP by removing the Repsol Stickers... :^ Kev
  14. You do have a point that swirling air with Fuel injectors doesn't do much..Being that combustion is dependant on the spray pattern ;)But the advantage of injectors comes with honing them out.
  15. Yes you are correct, swirled air is swirled air, but taken from AirRaids website "The unique dyno-proven "Helix Bore" of the POWERAID® TBS causes a spinning action of the incoming air-charge as it passes through the throttle body."The charged air is mixing with fuel, as it passes through the throttle body. So I do disagree with your statement.
  16. GREAT.....now I know Meade's spread'n rumors about me...lmao
  17. Ohh crap...Burrito's gett'n technical. What's next?? ;)Is he gonna buy a real truck? ha ha ha...sorry bro..couldn't resist.
  18. Yes Throttle body Spacers to add HP, but the gain is limited. How you ask??? By Changing the direction of air flow, the spacer is able to charge the air, thus enabling it to mix with fuel and burn more efficientlyBottom Line... HP=Fuel+AirSo as long as you have the the fuel to compliment the extra air, that creates power. If your in disbelief, then please explain the purpose of a turbo and supercharger...cause they do the same thing, charging and directly injecting air, thus creating power :^
  19. Holey shit dude..I totally remember you now. Your not jok'n man..its been forever since we last talked. We definately gotta throw up IM or something and catch up. My...how things have changed for both of us.. I'm glad we are all able to keep in touch, as its crazy how many of us on Steve's board here grew up together...lmao
  20. yeah, cause last I heard Weeks was driv'n rigs...so I didn't think he just had a change of career...lmaoCome on dude...your teas'n me... I've got one other Jeff in my mind, but I'm not sure (as I know a bunch of Jeff's). You used to hang at the Murphey's...when Jeb and Kenny were around???
  21. Dude..my deepest apology, but now knowing that we have history..I still can't put a face to a name. I'd love to stop by..but unfortunately, back in 93..had to get away from the dirt and move out of town. I'm actually located in Denver now. But you better believe when it comes time for the shopp'n I'll be there.Kev**EDIT** after thinking about it, the only name that comes to mind is Weaks??
