  1. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=21785 theres a box 4 cubes. might fit what you need.
  2. i am going to be building two seperate boxes to the dimensions mentioned above. i shall do the corner bracing but what else will i need to do ? they are gonna be preety wedged in so there will be no side to side movement. they will also be bolted through the floor to help prevent theft.
  3. see these are gonna be mainly use for listening to music and maybe some showing off.. nothing competition. but id like to have the spl if i need it.
  4. so where would i brace ? under the speaker ? i plan on using 1 inch thick wood along with puddling all the corners. btw i cant stop staring at your avatar.
  5. thanks for your reply... anyone else?
  6. PLEASE see this thread. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=21785 kthxbye
  7. well if i put the sub opposite of the port instead of next to the port will this change anything ? aka magnet facing port instead of magnet parrallell to the port.
  8. ok for two stroker 15s it calls for 4 cu feet tuned at 40 hz does this have to be per speaker ? or can i put two speakers in one 4cu ft box tuned to 40 hz and be fine ? or will i need 8 cu ft tuned to 40 hz ? i went here http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html and put in these values in this order. 30 20 21 21 1 4.5 0 i can fit two of these boxes in my trunk. would this be ideal?? also ports would be facing up vented into the cab via vent holes. speaker facing the trunk. port against the back seat. facing up and i under stand that i need to compensate for space taken up by the speaker. is .443 of a cubic foot enough for compensation or would i need a full square foot or so ?
  9. fucking my best friends ex girlfreind and she says his name..... fuck that.!!!!!! I STILL FINISHED THOUGH ROFL
  10. trying to understand 90 % of nismos posts.. fUCK THAT lol
  11. cant you just use the wire from the back of the h.u and just jump the wire from amp to amp to crossover?
  12. ive got two cerwin vega vmax 15s one is BRAND NEW and the other has probably 2 hours of use on it. both great condition 240 shipped
  13. nope i was just verifying what you posted
  14. you can see it if you look through the side. there is quite a gap for air flow to cool the coil below the spiders. the spiders are up high. but its definatly visable. when i have the speaker in hand ill snap some pics. hes pushed it preety hard and after a hard run theres no real heat buildup near the center of the cone. even when he reverse mounted one. (we were messin around) the motor and everything wasnt any warmer than luke warm. this is pushing the speaker with around 900 watts rms edit* http://cas07.businessflow.ms/3.9.5/media/g...73ad&size=1 theres a pic of a 15.... the three slots are all the way around the speaker and you can get quite a view of the voice coil from there. its a new one but they are still pulp cones. theres a very very thin aluminum/plastic..decal/dustcap that covers the whole cone. the whole cone is very light . i got to hold a voice coil/cone when my brothers failed due to a car accident. blew outta the box and something hit the center . for what we paid for these speakers 99 apeice otd i was really impressed with the quality and the sound. 17.4 mm of xmax it isnt much but thats what you get with most low end speakers. the stroker pro has triple spiders and adjustable xmax. up too 44.5 mm
  15. not gettin drunk here. more like funkin around with the home audio in my room. i really dont think my neighbors appreciate it its 516 am here lol.. btw great pics.
  16. so is this why i can see about a inch and a half of voice coil sticking above the face of the motor on my brothers c.v vmax 15? his speaker also has dual spiders. i hear this improves sq at high excursion rates it keeps the voice coil nice and straight in the motor and keeps the voice coil from hitting the magnet. the spiders are offset so at + stroke the bottom one is straight and at - stroke the top on is straight this is at the +- stroke extremes.
  17. what about velodyne and cerwin vega
  18. thanks for clearing that up. ive already learned so much just by browsing these forums.
  19. xmax is peak to peak measurement. max + and max - movement. so your speaker moves 16.1 mm from the maximum- to the maximum + without damage so safely your speaker moves 0.6 of an inch just above half an inch please do correct me if im wrong. this is my understanding
