  1. OK, I've posted a bunch more up there too. Check them out.
  2. If you are going to share your experience, please be factual about it. I can post the e-mails where YOU admitted that there was 120 amps flowing through the alternator charge cable at idle with supposedly "no load" load on it. 18 amps is what clamped flowing through the power cable from the batts to the car. Trying to bring a huge battery bank to 15+ volts IS a load on an alternator. I can also post the conversation where you admitted that two of you batteries tested bad. Thanks Matt
  3. In order to bring 4 Kinetik 1800's to 15.3 volts, you are talking about almost 80 amps worth of current with NO LOAD. Add the vehicle's stock amperage requirements (20 -30 amps) and you are talking about 110 amp load before you ever even turn on your head unit. You have to remember that a battery IS a load for an alternator if the setpoint of the regulator is higher than the resting voltage of the battery. The higher the setpoint is above the battery's resting voltage, the harder the alternator will have to work to hit the setpoint. BTW, 15.3 volts will eventually ruin those batteries now that you actually have some amperage behind that voltage. If you listen carefully, the batteries will start hissing (gassing) after a few about half an hour or so.
  4. Here are just a few of the 200+ amp units I have listed on e-bay. They are all brand new, made in the USA Powermaster alternators that come with a one year warranty. They are good stuff, I'm just not going to carry the line anymore, so we are closing them out. Check my other listings, as I have tons more being added daily. If you don't have an e-bay account, you can also call and order direct with a credit or debit card. thanks matt 1-888-MECHMAN High output alternator Chevy Tahoe GMC Yukon 5.7L 350:eBay Motors (item 220455299954 end time Aug-19-09 14:02:55 PDT) high output alternator police Crown Victoria Towncar V8:eBay Motors (item 220448429779 end time Aug-05-09 12:20:46 PDT) high output alternator Ford Ranger Explorer Mazda 4.0L:eBay Motors (item 220448443476 end time Aug-05-09 12:46:31 PDT) high output alternator 3G black Ford Explorer 4.0L OHV :eBay Motors (item 220448472424 end time Aug-05-09 13:40:44 PDT) Chrome high output alternator LT1 C4 5.7L Corvette :eBay Motors (item 220448489094 end time Aug-05-09 14:18:07 PDT)
  5. Yes I do- However, they are full of CRAP. That is a CS130 small case GM unit, that will no way in HELL make 220 amps with any kind of reliability or output at idle. You are doing well to get 150 amps with MAYBE 90 amps at idle out of a CS130. whats more, you can't turn any more than 200 amps worth of load with a the single v-belt on a 70 blazer. Unless you are converting it to 6 rib serpentine, 200 amps is your limit. If I were you, I would run our 200 amp ProPower large case GM unit with adjustable voltage. It will have VASTLY better output at idle than anything CS130 based, and will actually live at that amperage level because the cooling fan and rectifier are much larger. It will bolt in place of your stock alternator with only minor modification to the bracket. (only 1/4" differnece in the hole centers) They are $299 shipped. Please do yourself a favor, and don't try to run a CS130 when you are looking for 200-300 amps of current. We also have some large case 200 amp GM Powermaster units on closeout on E-bay in the $225 range: High output alternator Chevy Tahoe GMC Yukon 5.7L 350:eBay Motors (item 220455299954 end time Aug-19-09 14:02:55 PDT) high output alternator police Crown Victoria Towncar V8:eBay Motors (item 220448429779 end time Aug-05-09 12:20:46 PDT) high output alternator Ford Ranger Explorer Mazda 4.0L:eBay Motors (item 220448443476 end time Aug-05-09 12:46:31 PDT) high output alternator 3G black Ford Explorer 4.0L OHV :eBay Motors (item 220448472424 end time Aug-05-09 13:40:44 PDT) Chrome high output alternator LT1 C4 5.7L Corvette :eBay Motors (item 220448489094 end time Aug-05-09 14:18:07 PDT)
  6. One of our Rhino series 250 amp units and a single battery under the hood will power a 2000D at one ohm, no problem. The 250 amp Rhinos series unit is $399 shipped, usually dynos around 270 amps on that vehicle with around 160 at idle. I would do the XS power D3400 under the hood, we have them on sale for $239 shipped. They have a 3 year replacement warranty, unheard of in a competition battery. Thanks Matt 1-888-MECHMAN
  7. Yes. We dyno test the units with THAT regulator, just to be sure the regulator works. That also why we send them out pre-wired, so that we don't have wiring questions...
  8. One is adjustable, one is not. They are the same price, so I would go with the adjustable unit. It is a direct bolt in, same as your stock housing. You can set the charge voltage anywhere you want from 13.5 - 19.0 volts, we reccoment 15.0V for 12 volt batteries. It is a very powerfull unit, and is suitable for competition or daily use. Your unit is included in the 25% off sale, and would be $299 shipped. You will need to call and place the order over the phone in order to recieve the sale pricing. Thanks Matt 1-888-MECHMAN (shown with optional billet fan and nose cone)
  9. The center terminal is ground. You will have some continuity through the regulator at all times because of the circuit that is used.
  10. Like the ones listed on sale in the thread directly below yours? http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=49661 LOL, thanks Matt
  11. 6 rib normally does, but the belt wrap isn't great on that vehicle. You can go with a slightly larger pulley to increase surface area, but then you loose a little output at idle. I wanted to do a hood scoop and have two more alts coming up through the hood, but they wouldn't have it.
  12. Yes, that vehicle's alternator would be included in the sale. thanks Matt 760-490-2754 [email protected]
  13. Yes you can, it is a $99 option to add external regulation. Thanks Matt
  14. The CS series 250 and 300 amp units will function as a one wire unit, you do not have to plug in the connector for the alt to function. http://mechman.com/store/product_info.php/...products_id/331 thanks Matt [email protected] 760-490-2754
  15. This sale does not include dual alt kits. We do offer a dual kit for 99-2006 5.3L Suburban. The Rhino series units are compatible through 2009 GM truck models.
  16. Yes, that would be one of the units included in the sale. thanks Matt
  17. I still have a few of these left. They are in like-new condition, and we warranty them. You can't beat it for the price. Bump.
  18. Thanks to every one who took advantage of the sale! We still have the lowest prices on large case GM units, just give us a call. Call us at 1-888-MECHMAN or email us at [email protected]
  19. If you want, we can "de-tune" that alternator some so that it doesn't slip the belt so bad. Unfortunately, your vehicle has a pretty bogus belt setup from the factory, it just can't grip a really strong alternator. Also, if you keep your batteries on a good charger overnight, it will make the alternator's job easier during the day, just FYI.
