  1. Crunch 12s. My first ever demo was a guy with a mustang had two of them in a 4th order. This was back in the 90s, mind you, not the Maxxonics stuff from today. After that, I got a demo from the Lanzar Hearse. Bought my first sub just after that, a 8 inch Pyle driver I powered in a sealed box off a old kenwood house receiver. That sub could literally shake the cement block house. I was 10 or 11 at the time, and it all got worse after that lol
  2. My SMD shortcut goes to "my content", I used it to find out the status on if it was fixed yet. derp moment.
  3. seems the contestants are the ones who got screwed. Guess you could be an asshat and publish the guy's name and address for all to see, but I woudn't want to give you any ideas
  4. Doesn't surprise me how you handled this, Steve. Never known you not to be a straight up guy. Kudos, man.
  5. I think quitting was his intention but in an interview I read said he's back because his crew of 250 depend on him. What a shitty place in life to be in, though.
  6. no feeling in the world like being robbed. Glad it worked out for Terry
  7. You mean these ones (not mine) Yea, I know for sure that the bottom 2 are US Amps ... but what about the blue one ??? That's not anything from US Amps ???I'm thinking that's something else .... That's funny when I saw the title to to the post the first thing I thought was from 1998 the US Amps VLX-400 It is. Bought my first sub ever at 11 years old from the Car Audio shop that US Amps started out of, early 90s. I spent a lot of time there and learned tons... They had that amp, along with the Orion Red Beast, and Black Beast amps on the board in the demo room.I was exposed to amplifier porn at quite an early age and never seemed to recover.
  8. Nine8SST hasn't been on since December. I know he was having some health issues and had a special needs kid. She's gotta be 17 by now.
  9. That is true, as I pointed out before, better is subjective, being cheaper is better. A lot of you came off like "Tony don't know shit, I've been running CCA and it's a dream come true", Paraphrasing of course. But let me paraphrase myself: I think a guy that engineered and built one of the most powerful (and efficient) car amplifiers would probably know something about how to supply power to it. All I'm saying is that maybe you should hear him out before calling him out.
  10. You're right. I've never run CCA. So if not failing gives me no place in the discussion, fine. But I'll tell you one thing... You bitch about noobs from time to time, because you presumably know more than them. May be right, however, as soon as something you do gets put on the chopping block (you run CCA) you start pissing and moaning just like the noobs do. I'm not trying to start a fucking war, I'm just letting you know you should open your mind to the possibility that you're wrong about CCA. But then again, maybe if cheaper is your goal, CCA is better.
  11. Not to be an ass, but the opinion pushed is being backed by REAL WORLD TESTING, not on paper. yes as a DIRECT comparison, OFC > CCA, but for current carrying capacity (not resistance), for the cost CCA is better. You can do 3 runs of CCA for the price of 1 Run of OFC. OFC will carry 300 max, CCA will carry close to 600. So are you willing to lose battery capacity in extra resistance? Cost isn't the only factor influencing the answer here.
  12. Then you are basing this off of faith. There is no doubt in my mind that Tony's grasp of audio knowledge surpasses almost everyone on this site. That being said, people want to know why so they can understand the answer. The answer is either OFC> CCA or CCA> Copper. Tony says OFC>CCA and while I don't think he is wrong, WHY is he right? What is classified as "better?" Same cross section, same weight? What? WHY is it not OK? It is not an argument, it is us asking for the proof that it is right. These claims are all pretty exciting and interesting and I hope to learn a bunch from watching the videos. Blind faith?? No actually i'm not. BTW that response was to a post that was deleted. I'm not gonna spoil it, but it makes perfect sense when you hear the reasoning behind it. Tony will explain... I'm the kind of guy that has to question everything too.
