  1. not quite, im moving in august to colorado. wish i would've gotten my system metered before i sold it
  2. I had a '99 XLT as my first car. I had a Fi BL 18 with a PA OV1-3000D amp, single run of 0GA to a deep cycle marine battery and then 4GA to the amp. I got these fog lights that had blue angel eyes and a strobe feature jensen head unit with motorized 7" touch screen 7" liliput touch screen hooked up to a carputer running media engine changed all the dash lights to blue with blue LED's I found out a lot of info from www.explorerforum.com
  3. i broke the linkage in my rear hatch and my drivers side door. I can no longer open the hatch and it takes me six or seven tries to get my drivers door to unlock. IMO, not worth it

  6. check to make sure the the pos and neg wires are on the correct terminals of the amp. I accidentally did that and had the same problem. Stumped me for a bit.

  9. turns out there was a loose connection on the fuse between the alt and the battery, problem solved. Thanks for all the input
  10. i took some voltage readings. at the alternator 14.03 volts battery under the hood car running 11.5x volts battery in back car running 11.4x volts battery under hood car off 12.01 volts battery in back car off 12.00 volts So apparently my alternator is fine. ANY and all help is greatly appreciated
  11. i dont think its just the headunit though, thats just the most noticable side effect. when i do the window thing my lights dim like non other and the voltage gauge drops. i i were to do all four windows at the same time i come close to killing the car.
  12. and now i deffineintly know that this is not normal On my way back from school i had my stereo up and what not, playin a lil streetlight manifesto, and i turned my signal on to merge, when i did that my headunit shut off and then came back on again. So i decided to see if it would happen again, so i turned on my signal, sure enough the head unit turned back off. i turned my lights one, same thing, head unit turned off. I was listening to music that isnt bassy at all and this stuff still happens. The only thing i can think of is either my alternator is goin bad, which i just replaced not too long ago, or my battery is goin bad, but i can still start my car with just the battery under the hood and the one in the back isnt even a year old. any ides of what the hell is going on here?
  13. i dont think this drop is very normal when i do both the windows along with the lights the meter drops from the middle (the safe zone between High and Low) to about 1/7 of a "tank" I'll try and remember to pull some numbers

The other day i noticed that when my window is all the way down and i push the down button again my voltage gauge drops considerably, if i were to have my lights on and both front windows down and push the down buttons simultaniousley the voltage drops low enough for my head unit to turn off. I have a battery under the hood and one in the back and im powering one fi bl 18 on a power acoustik ov1-3000D i just replaced my alternator when the stock 90 amp went dead, i bought the new one from napa and its 130 amps and everything was running just fine until the other day when i noticed these problems. any suggestions of what the hell could be wrong here?
  15. as long as you use his disk and his key it will work. If this was pre-vista and you had to do this, you would need to either do an activation patch or call it in.

Yeah, it was something i threw together, i just finished building a ported box, 6.5 cubes at 32 hertz. there is a shit load of a difference. ive had the box for 2 days now and i cant open my rear hatch anymore, im pretty sure a linkage in handle broke. Its gonna be fun trying to fix that with the box in the way
  17. I have one BL 18 running off about 1500 watts in a 6 foot seald box. It hits the lows pretty damn well, low enough to make you want to pop your ears like you would in an airplane.
  18. i tried the peyote one before, i could feel my eyes start to move rapidly and my heart rate and breathing started to increase and i started getting very warm. but i didnt "trip"
  19. well, i test drove the crown vic, AMAZING, its got some great pickup but will need new shocks and brakes within the next year. Here is what's funny, on my way back to the dealership, i was on a road that widened from 1 to 2 lanes, i was stuck behind a semi so i decided to see what the crown vic could do and i floored it and got to 50 from 30 in a very very impressive ammount of time. BUT, as im passing i realize that cops usually sit in this clearing a few yards ahead, i see the cop and slow down to 40 before i pass him, right after i pass him he flips on the lights and pulls me over. FIRST TICKET! not that im proud, but hey, only 1 ticket EVER at age 18, thats pretty damn good.
  20. So, i might be getting a new car, but i want other peoples input on it. The car i am looking at is a 2000 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Its got the nice non-plastic back seat, the spot light, 117000 miles, cop black rims with the chrome centers and cop grade tires, still has cop chip and intake, V8, its black and the only real body damage is the scratches on the hood and the trunk. This car is going for 3000 But in order to get this car, i may have to trade my Explorer for it. Its a 1999 with 140000 miles, 4 wheel drive, v 6 SOHC, its got a fair amount of rust on the lower parts of the back doors and on the rear passenger fender. new tires, new exaust, new lower balljoints, no mechanical problems EVER So, if anyone wants to give a lil' input on whether or not i should trade the exploder, sell it privately and if so how much should i ask for, or just forget about the vic. Also, if pictures will help just tell me.
