  1. I wasnt specific about "tried everything"....new "top of the line" head unit, reinfored the cage, reinforced the mounting kit, applied dynomat to all of the substructures of the dash (where they bolt to each other) and an adjustable bracket which "pulled" the back of the unit to a plate attached to the hvac housing by adjusting a bolt (not pretty but who cares you couldnt see it). And after all this it still skipped. So Ive tried throwing money at the problem (and lots of time, which is money) and got burned, I dont want to see someone else go through the same ting.
  2. So buying the top of the line model means it wont skip? Just throw money at the problem!
  3. You should do some experimenting for yourself to see what sounds best to you, but I would try pointing the subs to the rear of the car with the box pushed back close to the back seat.
  4. Man I went through the same ting when I got my 12s, you know Id hit speed bumps or whatever and the head unit never missed a beat, but as soon as the bass hit it skipped. I tried everything and gave up, ended up getting an ipod, it sounds great and hasnt skipped yet.
  5. Ill wait till they work out all the bugs on the ps3, and then wait till the price is reasonable. I was the last person to get a ps2!
  6. The first ting I do with a new ride (new to me) is a complete tune up including plugs, wires, coil pack, fuel filter, fuel injection cleaning (pressurized not pour in the tank), and throttle body cleaning. Dont buy this stuff at wal mart or autozone, suck it up and buy it from the dealer. After that I would do the add-ons like cold air and exhaust. Yup at a fraction of the cost
  7. I just installed it this afternoon. It is curently hooked up to the alarm with the single siren under the hood. Im still not sure how Im going to handle getting 4 sirens to run off this ting.... The coolest part was that I was able to mount the alarm brain, the backup battery and the backup module all under the trim in front of the shifter. And I rerouted all of the alarm wiring up through the dash and now the only non factory wires you see under the dash are for the dash speakers.
  8. X2 He stated (or maybe still does) that he had the loudest system in ND or something. He has a ride that is very distinct and Im sure that he shows it off a lot. Can you really blame him for lying about the GPS? I cant, the way I see it he was just protecting his stuff, and I couldnt hold that against anyone. I think this is what started the whole hate Sayar thing that I hope doesnt come here. Now the dumb trivia and the absolute coefficient pressures thing? He did that to himself!
  9. In that case yeah but chode said he doesnt run anything with the truck off.
  10. Why would you need a deep cycle if you would never drain it? I "upgraded" the battery in my civic and it made no difference at all.
  11. yes he is, so that he can keep the power to amps going, they draw some power at those levels, so he revs the engine up to keep the voltage up. Cool, I thought I was hearing tings!
  12. I dont know if this will help but this exact ting happened when my amp did not have enough space around it to dissapate heat good....on real hot days or when I played it for a while loud it cut off.....relocated amp - no more problems, I hope this helps.
  13. I just got this dei backup battery to add to my alarm system (Its a dei rattler, nothing fancy, no complaints, adding this and extra sirens this weekend). I was under the impression that the alarm module and the sirens could be wired up to this and continue to work if the battery is disconnected. But I read the manual and it says that the only thing it should power is the alarm module. Lets say it can only power the module. Well the module grounds the relay for the sirens, but if the battery is disconnected, the relay wont work because its got no 12volts. If the relay doesnt work, then all I have is a module with 12volts doing nothing, which wont do a ting for my car. Do you guys think this would work - Wire the two 6 tones to the relay as planned, 1 in the hood 1 in the trunk, but wire the piezos to the backup along with the module and say screw the instuctions?
  14. Dont do it! Im not certain but isnt the battery in that Dakota 750cca?
  15. What do you do to get it back on?
  16. Yep, my p8002s knob is just a 45hz eq. +18db. Even if its all the way down its still loud as hell, just not as much bassssss..... I just have a on/off switch in line to the amp turn off when the police is near or Im close to my neighborhood.
  17. X2. I learned a lot on RF but sorting the arguments vs. the advice just got old, Im glad I found this place.
