well i dont think you need the bat to the block connection.

IN THAT link it says that the 1st wire is the alt to the battery positive then the 2nd is the battery negative to the chassis then the 3rd is the alt to the block. cause the alt is mounted on the block and there should be a wire from the alt to a mounting piece on the block. well thats from wat i can gather.
