well i have the old SX series subs not the SXX so i wasn't sure they still had my model of sub parts.. maybe i'll look into it, cause ive heard the sx's will outperform the sundown SA-15's and those are pretty bad ass subs lol im sure DC can recone the original SX... i know they still have recone parts... the SX and the lvl 4 shouldnt be that much off....

why not just get the subs reconed? just curious, the SX is a nice sub

you could do a nasty 4th order... with that much room, and that will make the 4 12s output just so much better.... i just have no info on 4th orders, but with that much room, you def could do that

loudest in walls are generally port on the driver side... if you are going for DBdrag.. honestly, whats the point in a wall with 4 12s? i could see 6 12s, or 4 15s.. with 32 cubes you have enough room for 4 18s as well i mean jesus port area 38.5H 10W 15L 14.25 sq inch of port per cube 385 sq inch of port 27 cubes total after displacement 35hz tuning....

prob cheaper to take a trip up to pick them up than it would be to ship... no joke...

if they are all the same sub, on the same power, same coil configuration, the 18 will be the loudest.. speaking as 1 sub on 1 amp, in a badass box.. 12 will sound ok 15 will be louder 18 will be louder than that... the 18 will move more air, if its just compared to 1...

no, there is not... atleast not more cone area with the 2 12s.. ive already posted the cone area between the 2....

thats either will work and I wont notice much of difference between the two? you will only notice a difference if you are going from 1 bad ass fucking 18, to 2 crappy 12s.. so like i said, you wont notice much difference between 2 XL 12s vs 1 lvl 5 18.. but you WILL see a huge difference between 2 lvl 4 12s and a lvl 5 18.. just depends on the subs...

2 12s = 24 sq inch of cone 1 18 = 18 sq inch of cone... you see where im going with that? ok in reality 2 12s = 226 sq inch of cone 1 18 = 254 but also factor in box size, and motor strength lets for instance say you are going with 1 lvl 5 18 vs 2 lvl 4 12s i think the lvl 5 would outperform the lvl 4s but 2 XL 12s vs 1 lvl 5, i think the xls would shine... get where im going?

it generally happens when you get a cut in the line, like it will be able to send a full signal at lower voltages, but at higher, it starts to cut out and back on, and it makes the subs go *WTF WHERE IS THIS SHIT COMING FROM* kinda deal, and they just do what they want and not play at the beat of the music LOL its why i was asking just to unplug it

he is getting audible clipping... how would unplugging the knob with the light on it make the clipping go away? especially if he could be clipping before the light comes on? he said it sounds all fucked up... bassknobs have been known to send fucked up signals... not that its clipping ive had a bassknob fuck up any kind of music after a certain point, it was almost like 1 full note, that played constantly, and it was a faulty knob... but you know, im sure thats not the problem... edit didnt realize clipping fucks up the music to completely change the way the music is played.....i know what distortion sounds like, i know what clipping sounds like... that sounds like a fucked up signal getting sent to the subs, not a square wave.... but what do I know.. its only happened to me a few times on a few lower end amps....

clip lights are never accurate.. unplug the knob and turn it to 18 and see if you still have the issue... more than likely, your gains are not set right... you could be clipping before that

if you were thinking of getting a SC300, do it... one of the best luxury sleeper cars there is.... its got a supra motor FFS I6 all the way

SC300 is not a V6, its a I6, and I would take a I6 over a V6 every day of the week....

I've heard from several people my original system would break the 50's but I'm just lost at this point. My electrical is upgraded 2 kinetic 1800's, a 220a alternator, 2 runs 0f 2/0 wire, and the BIG 3 upgrade. what are you tuned to? how is the box setup? are you metering at the headrest or on dash sealed up? little tiny ass things, like moving a sun visor can gain you dbs... or moving a seat forward... you need some real meter time to figure out what works best if you are tuned for music, tuning higher generally yields a better number.... do you know what your peak is? if not, you need to do a test to find out where your peak is asking again, since it seems to got missed LOL
