  1. The SPL portion of the Carl Casper show is ran by MECA, so the meter is placed at the headrest (either one) and doors are allowed to be open or closed, whichever you prefer. The only person who ran sealed up on the dash was gary fletcher with the silver caravan. Also, I'll mention that all these scores were with the cars OFF, so it's safe to say that the RF van definitely has a lot more in it once they get it all tuned in.
  2. Thanks Decaf. Now how do you do that so I don't have to keep asking other people to do it for me? lol. name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">Edit: got it figured out. I'm just a n00b.
  3. I don't know how to embed the shit, so if somebody could help me out, that would be great.
  4. Incorrect, MECA measures at the headrest. Van did 155.3 at the headrest this weekend with the car OFF. Not sure what it does legal on the dash as there's no db drag around there so they never test that way. It peaks in the low 30 hz range. BTW, it has 4 1500D's.
  5. Cheap isn't the same thing as poor. lol. I would just have to sell off some of my stuff in order to buy some.
  6. What's even better is she's actually pretty good as well.
  7. You know what, on second thought, you are right. No matter what will be shown, most likely I won't be happy. Why? Because as much as they won't say it, they can manipulate the settings to prove whatever point they want. This argument could continue on forever and in the end will essentially accomplish nothing (in my eyes). In the future I suppose I'll just keep my mouth shut and let everyone else say their "oohs" and "aahs" even if there's a lot of questions that need to be asked. But just for fun, I can guess what's going to happen next. A Team will retaliate, everyone will agree with them, and then everyone will think they "owned" me or whatever. I'll do my best to refrain from posting further.
  8. Yep, part of it is my fault. Video of the flat cone, free-aired, clamp meters on rms (no 1/2 second peak hold spikes) for 15 seconds. Simple enough? I was waiting for a "hater" comment. Seriously, a different sub? Oh, and how about a lower frequency to really show it's excursion capabilities with 4000 watts free air. That's a good trick to use as well. Well played A team. Another one of the reasons why I couldn't feed over 1000 watts to the xl I had. Didn't think it's really useful to test its free air capabilities with a 60 hz tone.
  9. I understand that, but why post a video of the flat cone free air, and then a different sub? Disregarding the fact that he took 2 spiked half second readings and passed it off as the same amount of power he was free-airing the flat cone sub with, why use a different sub? He knows that this whole clusterfuck of a thread deals with the flat cone, yet he uses a completely different sub for the "power" test? Hey, like I said, maybe he has a much beastlier xl than I had in my possession, but he just left way too many openings with that video. Though yes, part of it is my fault since I wasn't exactly detailed in what I was expecting from a power test video.
  10. You ain't kiddin. I wouldn't expect anything less from this forum!
  11. Wait a tick, thats a different sub in the video. What kinds of tricks are you trying to pull? I wanted to see the magical 4000 watts for 15+ seconds like you were doing before, not a 1 second fart. Don't forget to use the flat cone woofer as well. Come on a team, I thought you were better than that. If you're gonna prove me wrong, at least use the same damn sub. Go ahead, throw the meters on real time mode, and crank that amp up to 4000 watts for 15 seconds. *awaits "just a hater" comments* If you people hate me for not liking that video, then something is wrong with you. It's not even the same sub!
  12. Then perhaps yours has a substantially different suspension because I couldn't push it any harder than I was. Plus it wasn't my woofer, so I didn't want to break it. I don't make up stories just to make a company look bad, which I wasn't even doing in the first place. But this isn't to start anything.
  13. It COULD be a poor decision, IF this idea doesn't work out. IF. Sometimes threads like this work. I know they have for jacob and his products. Sometimes they don't, like mass destruction, the SMD sub, and so on. If it's a risk rusty is willing to take, then I'd assume he's fairly confident that this new idea will work. I was looking for a little more confidence other than "we've thought of that" or some variation of that. Other's had the same sentiment (including other companies), but I catch all the heat. Seems fair.
  14. Rusty stated that he will learn from ideas that don't work, so it's a win-win for him.
  15. If I'm a big dick for asking some questions, then I suppose I am. Pardon me and my raging hard on.
  16. I actually had a witty comeback for this, but I think I've put enough fuel on the fire for one day, so I'll refrain from posting it.
  17. A little late for what? I posted something very similar to my above post days ago, before everyone else started jumping on me. I'm trying to defend myself just like you.
  18. Did I say it was a fake sub? No, I did not. What I was saying is it's not always a good idea for a company to release information on a product before it's out of the prototype stage (aka, the SMD sub). Because if it doesn't work out for whatever reason, people will be left wondering why.
