Im running a AQ2200 at .5 ohms on a stock alt and HC1400 under the hood and an HC2000 in the trunk with 1/0 throughout and I drop to the low 13's after playing full tile at idle after a song or two but it never goes below 13 except playing at idle at night with all sorts or acc. on.

If you decide to do sub facing into the cabin, you need to have the port also firing forward or have it firing through the rear deck, and for my set-up to seal my 15 from the trunk. I first used some cardboard to get the shape of where the front of the box is/the shape of the metal behind the seats to get it as little gap as I can, then take that cardboard and trace it onto a sheet of MDF and use a router to cut out the shape, then carpet it and you got your self a nice looking trim panel, then whatever small gaps are left on the back I use Great Stuff to fill.

Since your using 2200rms to it I would try to build the box to the larger side of specs, so it is more effecient, I am running the same amp at .5 ohms on my LVL4XL and its eating up the power....

Exactly the answer I was gonna give, its louder cause your allowing the back wave to escape so it doesnt effect the front wave, if you are properly sealed off from the trunk the back wave and the front wave will never meet.

This, but dont do it with a ratcheting wrench, you will end up messing up the teeth, do it with a breaker bar, but even then its not really made for that.

Not sure, and sadly no I dont live near anyone that has a TL nor a shop that holds comps. I can answer, Infact I have an XL15 and an AQ2200 in my car right now, my box is right about 3.4 after displacment, so you should be good anywhere within 3.2-3.8 or so, though I am running my AQ at .5 ohms.....

Net is after sub/bracing displacement, so if you have a 1.8 cube box(Gross Size) for example and your sub takes up .20 cubes and your bracing takes up .20cubes then your net box size is 1.4 cubes
