DC Shaped Port Wall build
CaptainzPlanetz replied to Noobtastic14's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
Sucks about the pads, and the one thing I have to say is that is the coolest port ever made IMO, did you get the numbers you were expecting, or where you just hoping nothing else went wrong LOL. -
If you want to still be able to see and still have a wall, build the wall out of Plexiglass, it is not gonna be cheap, but it is sure as hell gonna be unique, I havent seen anyone running a Plexiglass wall, it would be sweet as hell. Edit:Thats what happens when you dont read all the posts you get ninja'd by a guy that posted 10 min ago.

what to look for in power wire?
CaptainzPlanetz replied to Rogers's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
I am not sure about the kicker wire, but I have heard from others to stay away from the silver tinned Knu wire, about the strands and welding wire, basically it is like this welding wire works fine for audio, lots of people use it and all have had a good exp. with it, the main problem with it having less strand count is it isnt as flexable, that is one of the main advantages of having high strand count. I personally have had exp with the Knu flex wire, the Kicker Hyperflex, and with Stinger Wire, all 3 of these brands performed great for me. I dont have any exp. with street wire so I couldnt say. As for your situation, if you are using the wire for the big 3 welding wire will work great, but doing a run to the back under the carpet through the cabin, I would recomend getting wire with a higher strand count, so it is easier to follow the contours of the floor board. -
Or get a 8" Funky Pup, buy a van build a 50cubic foot wall, and have the loudest van in the world, only thing is you have to spring for 10 T15K's to power it, or find a flux capacitor to power it. On a serious note, never heard of that company, I say go for it, maybe it is a good sub, pretty cheap as well, Also I noticed that is the only sub they make, I have never seen a company only make one size of a sub....nontheless an 8" sub.

Heck even with little power it gets loud in those cars, I had a JL W3V2 in a pre-fab sealed 1.5 cubic foot box angled at toward the hatch off of a 100rms Lightning Audio amp from wal-mart, and that thing was as loud as two CVR's off of 600rms in the trunk of my other car.

Multiple Mids/highs To One Channel
CaptainzPlanetz replied to white4d96's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
This is also involving my hometheater set-up, my stereo amplifier is rated at 6 ohm output per channel, but each tower I am running off each channel is 8 ohms, and I have had this for a few months now and have had no problems, again this is home audio and not car audio, the way I figure is I am just getting about 20% less power than if I were to use 6 ohm towers. I also always thought you could only hurt an amp by running below it rated ohm load. -

CaptainzPlanetz replied to white4d96's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
I am not sure about the mids and highs for the car, but am using it right now for my Hometheater set-up 4 Sony Towers with a Two Tweets a 5 inch mid and an 8 inch sub in each tower, and each tower is getting about 250 rms and they sound great, also I use there 12 or 10 gauge from my ZX.1500 to my 2 CVX's and they sound good as well, havent had any problems with there wire. -

I dont know about the amp, but for speaker wire, you can get like a 50 ft roll of 14 or 16 gauge at walmart for like 10 bucks. -
Do you have a stock battery? First I would get a good starting battery(I prefer XS Power), then do the Big 3 in 1/0, then you should have plenty of current to feed the amp. As far as clipping I could tell you but I am sure someone else on here can give you a more detailed run-down than I can. Edit: From my exp. the most of the people that want to connect there amp directly to the alt. want to basically get a direct shorter path for power to flow, which may be true to an extent, however the alt does not have any reserve for you to play with when you are pulling power from it, so it could be damaged by running the amp power wire directly off the alt, if you exceed the amperage of the alt, so the best way would be to have a good quality battery up front, and run you equipment off of that, just cause one way is a shorter path with less connections does not always mean it is a solution to your power draw problems.

Flo Rider - Lips Like Sugar
CaptainzPlanetz replied to rckstar's topic in Tunez - All things music related
That award kind sir goes to Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy, at least Flo Rida has lyrics that make sense(Im not saying he is great or anything), but those two dont make sense at all and get way more credit than they deserve(Especially Wayne). -
I can understand all the rappers I posted, aside from the foreign ones and Evil Pimp, I like Tech N9ne but I just didnt post him because everyone knows who he is, along with Bone Thugs and Twista, they are all great, I wouldnt post em if it didnt sound musical, if I wanted the fastest that didnt sound musical I would of posted up some Rebel XD, who holds the record, but you cant understand it, though they are all real words. And about the freestyling, dont you think it would be harder to rap fast freestyling rather that to rap fast to something you have practiced, most of the rappers I posted are much faster than the well known rappers, tech and twista both do about 10-11 syllabels a second, tonedeff is about 13 a second, I am guessing VdoubleO and Twisted Insane are about the same, Outsider has been clocked at 17 a second, No Clue who once held the record was at 14.1 a second, and Rebel XD the current record holder comes in a a little over 20 syllabels per second.

I like the circuit breakers, I am getting one soon, does the same task as a fuse, but you can reset it if you set it off, plus it makes it easy to work on your system, pop the hood flip a switch, then get to working.

It's actually Hoods Run Down, and the lowest note is 16hz, which alot of people cant play loud at all, and may damage your equipment if turned up all the way, the person that comes to my mind that could hit that low note loud is probably Jack with the sleeper that goes deeper.

I have had this for like a month and have only got like 12 swag bucks, you really only get alot of swag bucks when you refer people to the site. -
They are actually a little heavier usually, here is the basic difference between cast pistons(stock) and forged Regular pistons are milled from a rough casting. The original metal is poured into a pattern, then cut on a lathe or milling machine to the final shape and dimensions. Forging is a process of applying pressure to shape the metal, either with a hammer or press. The process applies stress to the metal grains, which adds considerable strength to the piece. So basically Forging makes the metal less pourus, and alot more dense so while it may be slightly heavier, it withstands high pressure loads much better. Edit: Forged internals is a must for boosted engines IMO, some cars can get away with low amounts of boost on stock internals, but dont handle very much over about 8psi.
