  1. yeah i would be loosing what i spent on the recone kit or any of that stuff i need. its worth it to learn in my opionion.
  2. yes you may be right. but i would like to try to fix it seeing as its a cheap sub and so if i dont fix it then i dont loose anything.
  3. how much for a 12 would you charge?
  4. finaly theres atleast another person who feels my pain. ive also got an old rockford fosgate punch series 10 that i need a recone kit for. and im getting mad cause i cant find anything of help. there are recone kits for like all other punch series subs but the one i have.
  5. why do you say a fw hundred??
  6. wasnt pyle you dick.
  7. yeah i know ive got to undo all that stuff to get the old one out and the new one in. i want to try this out to see how it will work for me.well i might be able to salvage the cone. im good at salvaging things. idk if i can pull this off sucessfully. but i am willing to try. ive got solding down abit. and i am really good at laying caulk and glue. the manafacture doesnt have parts like that available. and for a recone kit from a differnt manafacture its like $200. the sub is maybe like $75 at the most. but it was a very good sub when i used it. my cousin screwed it up. he is suppost to buy me two new ones. but i want to try to fix this just for some exsperience. im very good at fixing things and i am extremly good with working with my hands. i just need to be pointed to the right sites to buy stuff from
  8. im looking to put a new voice coil in a square sub that i have. it is a 12" square dual VC 4 ohm's. the VC is 2.5 inchs. i would like to drop a new one in it so i could bring new life to this sub. does anyone know of websites that sell high quality VC's?
  9. ive got a silver spider classic. its got a carbon fiber barrel, new stock trigger, 2 20 oz tanks in nice condition, one might have some wear marks, barrel squegie (sp), chrome drop forward, upgraded blot, new volucity adjust the ind you can turn by hand, macro line, and a 200 ball hopper. 150 plus shipping. paid over 150 for all the upgrades. gun is in pretty good condition considering it was used when i got it, i barely used it. i will also send all the stock parts too as for i have no use for them at all.
  10. oh i c. niceee. i cant wait to see that build. big stereos in small cars now thats tricky and awsome. whatever vehicle i get all i know is its gonna bang hard with my new amp im getting =] the lovely gf is buying me a sundown saz-3000d. i told her ill need some bat's and shes like oh god that shit is exspensive.
  11. that is one hell of a nice truck. i love trucks like that. i agree with bumonskateboard6
  12. thanks for all that info. that was helpful. i was looking at o scopes and they are expensive. ill try to find an old one somewhere. yeah ik about the electricution hazards. ive got my fair share of shocks from things. i will read up on stuff like you sugested. they really can blow up and whatnot? thats abit of a hair raiser. lol. one time i did connect some amp i found in a stream up to a 120 outlet. that was wayyy before i knew anything about electronics. i of course let it dry out. it only smoked and blew the circuit breaker. ive wondered about your car boon. what kinda equipment do you have in it? and holy shit 8000 watts in that small of a car??
  13. its just something i do. i like to learn as much as i can about stuff so taking it apart is my thing to do. ive repaired many ipods and things along that nature so i would like to work on amps next and modding them. and i am buying the right equipment that i need. but if you have something cheap and that can be improved why not experiment with it?it can be a waste of money if your doing stupid stuff that has no point to it what so ever. some people dont get the point of certain things that others do. and oh well. they dont need to.
  14. whats the function of the toroidal transformer? and could any changes be made to that?
  15. oh ok thanks team bassick (alpine) that clears it up alittle bit. chevy boy its called trial and error. the only way to gain experience is to try. if it do do it (which im probibly not gonna do) if i mess up the amp then oh well. atleast i will have learned what not to do next time. and if you knew me in person you wouldnt doubt me like that. this is all i do is work on things all the time. if im not working on some kind of project then something must be wrong. small engine, big engines, electrical, bikes, tractors, garden tractors, trucks, cars, anythign mechanical. i do it all. it may not be perfect ut i try my hardest. some people need to stop being so negative towards others. this isnt the first time that someones doubted me on here. 5th maybe?
  16. ive heard that people have modified amps before (steve) and was wondering how you do that? has anyone done a tutorial on it before on this site? i would apreciate it if someone could help me out with this one.
  17. do you use two per terminal? as in one on each side of the wood? thats a very good idea. i might be buyin some from you. even know ive got a machine shop i could make them at. i like to support fellow bass heads though =]
  18. yeah i love snap-on tools. ive got some from my uncle. some wrenchs and stuff. but my best friends step dad has a nice set of snap-on and they are superior in my book. i have a NICE dewalt set. its a 6 piece 18 volt xrp set. got it for christmas acouple years ago. best gift ive ever got was over 600 at home depot. it was that or a milwaukee 18 volt drill. it came with an impact driver that i love to death. works awsome on taking electronics apart and screwing in subs and stuff like that.
  19. those are pretty sweet! i like the tools too. i have a complete set of all 3/8 craftsman sockets i bought myself acouple years ago from sears. cant go wrong with the warrenty. oh and nice stack of amps on the chair. lol
  20. im hopin to get a pelit gun, laptop battery, acouple anl fuse blocks and a new head unit. my birthday is the 28th so it sucks cause i get jewed majorly! but i am getting a saz-3000d referb after the holidays from my lovely gf.
  21. im hopefully getting one for christmas/birthday. because my birthday is the 28th. its gonna be a referb from db-r too
  22. i can second that! try his song tomorow. its a cool song.
  23. are there any little wire pieces from the positive wire touching anything on the amp? that might be it. unhook the remote wire and see if it does it still. maybe the headunit is sending a negative signal thru the wire.
  24. instead of a distribution block you could use a buss bar. i was having some dificulties with differnt wire sizes and finding the right size distribution block with the number of holes i needed and what not. so i decided to use a copper buss bar. you can add as many wires as you need in and out of it by simply drilling a hole.
