    never said they were. i think a dealer went out of business and is just getting rid of his stock because last week he had wholesale lots of components for cheap. like 50 sets of 6.5 components for 900 bucks. they went very fast though

    because it has more cone area. lol idk. the prices aren't very level across the board but its still some low prices on them. they had 10" and 12" ts's starting out at 20 bucks last week

    ^^^tru. are they "snap, crackle, popping" or are they just distorting. your first post makes it sound like they are popping. but i think you're just using the wrong words. are they sounding like shit during certain frequencies only? if so they just can't handle those frequencies, they aren't crossed over right, or you're giving them a dirty signal.

    did you sand your dust cap? if so, i did the same thing and then went over it with some 3k gritt sandpaper and then painted it black its actually black now instead of that greyish color.

    change the length and the tuning will change with it.

    looks good but you should have countersunk the sub as well.

    if they "snap, crackle, pop" then yea they are either blown or you are getting a breakup somewhere else (amp, rca's, speaker wire, etc.)

    i get mine from o'reillys. enough to cover a normal sized box for around 10 bucks and larger ones for 20. i also cover all of the false trunk floors i have made with this carpet. its just normal oem quality car carpet.

    ^^^^tru. but if you are just learning about them and want to try them out, don't expect much from the first attempt. they are kinda picky and if you don't get it right they will let you know. but to the OP, read up on them as much as you can. and hopefully some more people will post that have alot of experience with them will help you out.
