nope cant see anything. i hooked it up to my stereo just to test it out. one coil played the sub, the other didnt. i already accepted the fact its blown, sad though. you think clipping caused it? or age? i was always careful playing the sub, never played too long & stuff.

one coil reads 1.8 (when i hold it completely still otherwise the numbers just keep changin), the other coil reads nothing even when i move the multimeter cables around. i guess its toasted a coil?

Ive got a soundstream t4-15 subwoofer. yesterday when i was driving to work i was listening to "fuck a nigga thoughts" at the highest level my system can handle before distorting/clipping. when in the middle of the song when i heard a slight pop and the subwoofer stopped playing. I checked today if there were connections loose. There werent any. Amplifier lights up, green light. No protect mode or anything. I connected my old 10 inch mtx woofer to the amp and it works perfectly. The sub doesnt/didnt smell or does it make a scratching noise when i push the cone down. How can i check if its really dead? I already got my eye on 2 Rockford Fosgate 12" HX2's (500+500rms)...

im aware it is important, i will eventually get that alternator wire to the same 2gauge size.. but my real question is if this can harm my car in any way?

its not that i dont have the wiring its just because i can harly reach my alternator, dont have bridge i can put the car on and dont have too much technical knowledge!

Ive recently upgraded my battery ground and engine ground cables with 2 guage wiring. The civic has some small ass 12 gauge (i think) ground cables so its a pretty nice step up. i did not do the alternator to battery because i simply lack the tools to do so. could this be a problem for my car, just upgrading those 2 grounds without the alternator to batt?

imo a 15" btl is a proper box can ALWAYS be heard from far away. ive only got a thousand watts on my 15" soundstream and ive hear people say they hear me coming from a mile away

/thread I hardly ever heard of a song that hits 20hz. Really. Tuning around 28hz is be the lowest i would go.

I agree with the bracing, im gonna do a new box pretty soon i guess. with bracing and double baffle. this box is just a first timer, im pretty happy with the results! Unlike the US, the part in Belgium where I live that stuff doesnt happen. But you're right though, I should go tint them windowz! Gonna upload some vids today!

This is my first ever box i built myself and i think it's quite a success. Very basic but still, it bangs like crazy! The subwoofer used to be in a craptacular small box, it didnt really get any breathing room. I had to get this fixed but it took like 5 months for me to finally get to it. Subwoofer is a Soundstream Tarantula T4-15" I put it on a MAC Audio Fearless @ 1000w RMS. Box is 3.6ft³ @ 35hz. Some pics: I'm still planning on painting the box black. But im really really happy at how it bangs right now.
