    yes it can low voltage=amp working harder that = cliping ur playing 2 low for ur box (not a main reason for the heat)and cliping (one of the main reasons) use ur dmm and see how ur voltage is when u play ur system any thing under 11.x-and down is will be cliping the sub 2 hell just a lil info for u edit: and ur not geting the full "1500 watts" after voltage drop and imp. rise

    u dont know if ur cliping unless u tune with a o scope so if anything ur cliping ur subs

    i have a 12" big bang off a rx-2400 at 2 ohms and i did a 137.xx at the head rest there good sub for the price but there is better
