  1. well damn. You sir need to buy some 30 or 50 gallon barrels and fill them bitches up...dont forget the Stabil I just put $92 in my tank today and i had a quarter tank still in the truck
  2. Thats what the VCM does. Allows you to boost your voltage. Also OP just FYI i paid $159 for the Mechman VBCM that will control dual alts. It doesn't have the fancy display but it does the same thing. Not sure what the VCM goes for. Also Mechman pretty much guaranteed a 48 hour delivery where I heard that XS is having a tough time getting the VCMs out on time...talking months. Just what I heard.
  3. I was going to do a 12 and 14v system in my truck because i was unsure if my stock electrical would like the 16+ volts. Turns out that Mechman has been running a silverado with a d1400 and VCM for over a year on the stock alt. Of course the VCM is used to boost up the charging voltage of the stock alt. I will be doing this on my suburban here soon. taking all the 12v batteries out and using the Mechman VBCM to boost my dual alt up to charge 4 D1400s. You however may want to talk to someone that knows more about your specific vehicle. See Mechman did it on a Silverado and I will be on a similar year Suburban so I am confident mine will work no problem. Besides that with my MLA ona freezing cold day my truck will charge in the lower 16s and i have never had any issues...and that was running an all 12v system . So check with someone that knows more about your specific vehicle first. Or you could do a step down box so you dont have to worry.

  9. So you had problems by running multiple runs to multiple batteries straight from the alt? I have five batteries and 4 runs of 1/0. ONe run to my main batt, one run to my two HC800s and one run per HC2400....never had any issues. I am sorry for jacking your thread OP but just wondering what problems baker got. I would have told the OP its fine. They are all common points anyway.
  10. Could someone from XS please PM me a price on a VCM with harness for my truck. I also am running two alternators so the harness would need to accommodate. I have the 5.3l engine. Also do you think a D1400 will fit under the hood?
  11. After seeing this and reading some of Mechmans comments I am now thinking I can just run the entire truck with the 14v batteries. Anyone care to comment?
  12. Nice. Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure before I go fuggin things up. So this is my plan and you guys feel free to correct/suggest things. Ohio Gen 240A alt (which I have already) with an MLA hooked up to it so my 12v side actually charges in the 14/15 volt range. I will use this to power the truck like I am currently doing. It will also charge my yellow top up front. My mids/highs amps will be on this electrical system, even tho all of my amps can be run up to 18v i see no need to put them on the 14 volt side of things as they do great power on 12v. I am going to purchase another alt, I have been talking with Ohio Gen and they offer a 275 with external reg for $550. I may or may not go with that specific alt but either way whatever i get will be externally regulated and will charge 4 XS D1400s. as many runs as I can fit on the alt stud to the 4 bats in the back of the truck. The only thing that will be connected to the 14v XS batts is my two Cadence ZRS C5's. As long as there are not other issues it should be relatively easy. And hopefully I will see some nice power gains from my amps.
  13. I mean the 12v side of things has to be grounded as well as teh 14v side. If grounding them together will be an issue...where the hell do i ground it?
  14. Yeah for the 14v side of things it will have a dedicated alt just for the XS 14v batteries. I am going to get one with an adjustable regulator to handle this. I already have a HO alt that I am gonna use for the 12v side of things.
  15. or some xs power 14 volt batts or kinetic ive thought about doing this in my tahoe keep the stock location alt running every thing in the truck and your mids and high amps then the second alt externally regulated and charging at 16-16.5 volts Pretty much what I am wanting to do. I know physically hooking it up is nothing, i know how to do that. I guess I am more interested in whether there will be or could be any ill effects from running two different voltages. The only common points will be the grounds.
  16. No, I mean running a dual alt setup. One alt will charge a 12v battery and power the trucks electrical along with my mids/highs amp. The other alt will charge a 14v battery bank fro my sub amps.
  17. Is there anything for me to worry about if i want to run one alt @ 12v for the stock electrical and the mids/highs amps BUT run another alt for a 14v system strictly for the subs.
  18. This is what i use. Square Tape Measure Countersink bit for countersinking the screws Drillbit for predrilling Wood glue 1-1/4" Drywall screws (these come out after the glue is dried) Bar or pipe clamps Table saw or circ saw Router with upcut bit Jasper Jig Now if you dont have/cant afford to buy a router and Jasper jig you can cut the holes with a jig saw, they wont be perfect but they will work just fine. Be creative and use the tools you have. Also I cant stress enough to people, USE YOUR RESOURCES....friends, mom, dad, their friends. Somebody has the tools you need.
  19. Anyone know the laws in MD about open carry? I am a VA resident but travel to MD. Normally i keep my 40 with me but i jsut wanna see where things stand if i were to have it on my hip or in my car when i go up there.
  20. I need about 4 D1400s or similar. Need to be 10/10 condition. Need pics of floating voltage. I have seen many post where these go for $150 shipped so that seems fair to me. I also have 2 Kinetik HC2400 and 2 HC800 that I can trade. They are 12v batteries and are in good shape and hold a charge just fine.
  21. Yeah come on, who just plops down on a public toilet? Imagine the embarrassment. What do you do sit there and yell for help? Get on your cell and dial 911, lol. If that happened to me I might just fucking stay there before I told anyone I was super glued to a toilet seat. Hope he got to wipe before they came, lol.
