  1. That amp isn't know for reliability, sadly. I suggest you don't run it under 1 ohm and keep the gains down.
  2. There is a guy from the Soundpressure forum that did it. You have to use a powder coat paint with metal particles mixed. This way the paint acts like a thicker heat sink. You will void the warranty if you do this.
  3. AQ3500 is $700. You might be able to find some used Sundown 3K.1 amps for your price range.
  4. Let's not forget that using deck power generates heat. Heat = bad for electronics. It's also easy to clip your speakers. Investing in an amp is very wise.
  5. I have the Alpine 9887 and it's a really nice unit. My only gripe is the next track button is fading but whatever. It doesn't have a motorized face so you don't have to worry about it breaking. The new Eclipse decks are real nice too.
  6. Good prank on his friend. I feel really bad for the girl though, seeming as how she said YES.
  7. Wow RIP J. Lusk. That's one hell of a dangerous sport. You gotta have BALLS to do what they do.
  8. What parts did you use for your retrofits? I'm thinking about doing a 6000K with S2000 projectors and custom shrouds.
  9. So you want ear buds with great bass huh? I suggest some Ultimate Ears. Better bass response cost more money so buy whats in your budget. The dual drivers run about $200 and are a BIG step up in bass from single drivers. If you want earphones that you can just stick in your pocket then I don't suggest spending a lot of money on them because the wires are fragile to a point. Avoiding wear and tear will definately extend the life of them. They do come with a case if you don't mind.
  10. I think you would be amazed what a DD1508 ported and tuned to 40hz sounds like. Especially with your music tastes. I implore you to try it. Build your own box.
  11. BUMP for a great price. Here are the specs I found: Improved with EX-450 24 dB Elliptic 2-way xover Upgraded with TW-25s 1" silk Tweeter Improved overall system power handling 6.5" 2-way component set Midrange: 6.5" Cast Frame Carbon Fiber Cone Crossover: EX-450 2-way Elliptic 4th/5th order Tweeter: TW-25 1" Smooth Silk Dome Surface & flush mount housings Power Handling: 130 watt RMS Frequency Response: 60-20kHz Sensitivity: 90.5 dB Impedance: 4 Ohm
  12. +1 For the little bit extra cost you get a lot more.
  13. Eclpise 3200 or the new 5030 for a bit more money. Both have 5v.
  14. I have the 9887 and its pretty nice. I'm thinking about that new eclipse in-dash dvd/nav due April though. The new alpine 505 looks great but I hear the buttons are small and hard to find when driving.
  15. If you can't tell the difference by comparing then don't waste your money. Some cable companies signal is too compressed and 120hz won't make a big difference. These TVs are made to shine more with hi def. 1080p with 120hz playng blu-ray ... on a fast scene ... almost worth getting rid of old 60hz for a new tv! AVS Forum has loads of info, reviews, tips etc.
  16. The chocolate milk trick is by far my fav. He should make some martinis next lol.
  17. Not really a fan but that first song is the sh*t!
