Yeah i looked at the wiring guide but i think it just notes the biggest fuse recommend for that particular wire size. I think since im runing a 103 amp alt a 150-200 amp fuse would be fine. Just checkin tho to make sure.

Ok im doing the big 3 this week in my 2000 cavalier with a alternater size of 105 amps. I heard you need to put a fuse inbetween the alt and battery positive. For the 1/0 runs the the amps im using 200 amp anl fuses. I looked around for a answer couldnt find one so i posted this. Can i just not have a fuse?

Ok last winter i took the AWS test for level 1 certification and passed the 1st part but failed the safety part horribly. Anyone know of any good prep tests online i read the books front to back and still have troubles. :censored: Any help?

Since i have to wait i guess ill get the right stuff. Ill get a couple powermasters or kinetics. I think a hc800 for back and a hc 1400 for front hows that sound anygood or simular but powermaster.

Focal is a good brand if you got the cash for it. They are expensive but supposively the best.

But arent they agm. kinetik and powermaster cant be mixed with a everyday napa-interstate batt cause they are flooded right?

Bump. Could you mention a few good batteries like kinetic or powermaster? Is it ok to mix a regular battery with a battery like kinetic?

I bought a few tens for my standard cab truck and i ended up getting a different vehicle that i can go bigger system wise. They are two 10" HK1001 MA AUDIO Subs in a Truck Style enclosure. Looking for 90 bucks + shipping. Need to get rid of these for new system so help a brotha out lol. Ok what fuse should i use for a 275 amp alt? Also what size for the 105 amp alt incase i actually decide to run it all off stock alt for a little bit.

Ok i think im going to wait still even if its till next summer then i can get my entire system going instead of just one level 4 15, Ill plan on getting a 275 amp dc alt, 2 level 4's, a few powermaster batts, and my mids and highs, volt meter, and i may get a mla so i can run a 15.5 volt system so i can get more out of the amp's. I just need around 1200 bucks. I already have the amp coming. EDIT: Dc Power told me that just the stock car without system takes almost all of the power the alt makes. I dont want to fry the amp or subs.

It sucks to not be good at test's. I can be confident i know the shit too but once a test comes a bad score something about them idk.

I had a system in my s10 regular cab and ran a few alpine mrp 1000's and my stock burned up in a matter of hours without dropping voltage like crazy. Does adding a crazy load on a alt provoke it to break even without bad electrical? I never dropped below 13.89. I think this may just happen again. So just wait for the alternator and put a batt in the rear and i SHOULD have no worries?

From my experience alpines sound great right at recommended specs. tuning it to 32 would be perfect for a good "medium". Try not to give them more then 100 rms past manufacturers recommended. When you build your enclosure take your time its worth it. Also you should run 1/0 wire alot of noobies try and run smaller but its not good. think thats it.

A little more info would be nice. With your ported enclosure make sure your port width is no smaller then 2". I would run a 200-250 amp anl fuse for the 2000x1 amp. Whats the actual subs and amp called? Make sure your calculations are right cause the enclosure is a major factor and could make for break a good install. Regular wood glue is fine but you could fiberglass and resin the inside seams to help strengthen it up a lil.
