Random 4th Order 8" Build
bumonskateboard6 replied to bumonskateboard6's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Box is done, I don't have much to test it on but this amp does about ~150-200wrms @8ohms so I threw it on there and changed some stuff on the EQs for that channel to make it play. Bass is completely cut out on the crate speaker that's on. iPhone videos so they're not the best but they work. I'll have some better ones once I put it in a car on a real amp (just have to find a car first haha). Here's three 1 minute or so videos, lot more bass in real life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEx-Utj0VzE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHoLhinJIsY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycel5o0j81M Oh and pictures: Top is removable to get to the sub if I need to without destroying the box. Used foam insulation tape works perfect and air tight. Here's a view from the front. -

2.2:1 ported to sealed ratio, 0.6 cubic feet sealed 1.32 cubit feet ported, tuned to 52hz. I got a rockford fosgate P300-1 to power it in a car or test bench (birthsheet says 416 @2ohm), and I have a Crown XLS 402 in my "studio" that'll do 300x1 at 8ohms. -

They aren't too difficult, just consider it a sealed box inside a ported box, gotta figure out what ratio of sealed to ported works best for your woofer, but after that it's easy. Thank you Thanks! Not too bad for my first table saw I love it, it's the reason I'm out building boxes for fun, can't just let a saw stop sit around -
Had some scrap MDF laying around in the garage, and my 8" DC LVL2 figured I'd play around with build a 4th order. No real plans for this other than the sake of something to do...it may end up being a test bench setup down the road if I get a battery and charger for cheap. Pictures are random cause I wasn't really planning on doing much but here ya go Sub Frame Sub mount board Port Sub in Voice coils switchable from 2 or 8 ohm so I can run it off an amp or in my house Damn warped MDF making me have to use more sealer That's all I've done for now, more updates when I've got some time.

Check local laws on transfer of ownership of firearms before you take it, if you don't know much about guns I'd say call a gun shop and ask them the laws and see if they would be willing to take a look at it for you. If you wanted to sell it down the road lots of gun shops will take used guns, some pawn shops will take them too.

Yeah if it was higher/lower voltage and you didn't reset the gain on the amp it could have. To me it doesn't look so much like you burn the MOSFETs though but I'm not an electrical engineer

Upgrading
bumonskateboard6 replied to tsshore987's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
The amount of power increase with the addition of the LVL5 soft parts is all up to how much you're going to abuse them. I have my 2 LVL4s with LVL5 soft parts on a DC 3.5k at 0.7, they can get incredibly loud and take the power, but I don't run them at max volume for too long. -
He's got his 300 ultra mag and his 7mm mag model 700's, I've never been much of a hunter so I got no cool big rifles, but I'd like some someday. It's an explosive, it's pretty cool stuff, we ordered ours from http://www.tannerite.com/ 20lbs and the Remington 700 I figured someone in law enforcement that likes guns (such as yourself) would know all about this stuff!

A .357 magnum revolver will USUALLY be able to fire a .38 special, don't use any semi-auto .357's with a .38 special. However it'll gunk up your cylinder pretty bad, stick to the ammo the gun is made to shoot. If you like revolvers I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum 50th Anniversary I enjoy, even though it's single action I like the old school style, but .44 Magnum ammo isn't exactly cheap...

DD-1 and DC Amps

Yeah I'm sure it'll just take a little bit of practice to get it all dialed in right, thanks for the suggestions! -
DD-1 and DC Amps

I'll try it out at all the different levels to see what works best, I just figured I'd go ahead and try loudest first -

I got in my DD-1 today and gotta say I'm very impressed in the increased loudness and clarity of my system, I have all the EQ's still flat on my HU and it sounds GREAT! Only one question I have is I set my DC 3.5k with the remote gain knob in the middle (as the instructions said) and when I turn up the system to near its max volume the clip light on the knob stays on even with the knob all the way down. I know the clip light isn't a very accurate or reliable measure of clipping, but I was just curious if anyone has had the same outcome?

i need a Alternator any good brands
bumonskateboard6 replied to KHRISS's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Nope. Were good, but started getting very lax in the customer service department, and building junky alts that didn't work... -
Looking at picking up a new AR-15 but I want a gas piston system in my new one, so far my three choices would be (in order of price) the Sig 516, Barrett Rec7, and H&K MR556A1. Does anyone here have any experience with any of these three rifles or any input on a good gas piston style AR that they like?
