need box design for 2001 blazer xtreme
siucsaluki11 replied to pmpnu2's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
all i got left to do is a cut sheet -
anyone got examples of port through the seat? Like, where it wasnt there to begin with but they cut apart the seat?Im thinkin of takin a chunk outta the center seat back. Hardly anyone sits there, so whats it matter if theres a 36 or so sq in missing.
-
dont have that access door, one of the few places my car fails Im plannin on runnin 8s, i think 4 8s commin outta the trunk like that would be teh sex. but for the time being, im lookin at just 2 8s and possibly up to 2kw.
-
any opinions on sub back port to wheel well? and also i found some seats online for 100-210. Ill probably buy a seat outta a wrecked one and hack it up eventually.
-
Ya, im sure hes reconed them, im pretty sure he plans on putting the new recones in soon. His envoy probably looks alot nicer now than when you saw it last. I wanna say his box is 10 cubes tuned to 38Hz with alot of port. He inverted the subs and they cool off quick and they dont heat up that much in the first place.

ummm...no yea not so much beacause... its a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer. People ride around with subs in a trunk with their back seat up all the time, so i dont see why its an issue. Ill probably end up going through the rear deck eventually, but for now the car is a week old and im not going to hack it up. I saw a PWK design on youtube for 2 DD1508's (also been thinking of going to these and keepin some trunk space) that was subs back port firing into the drivers side wheel well.

D.O.A. sleepy has 2 HDC3A 18s on 4k each and its a daily driver. That shit slams and drops low too.
-
sounds like im goin all back then. Till i find a way to make my rear seats fold atleast. Through the deck isnt going to happen yet. There is alot blocking the way for me to port through the deck, and the rear speakers are in the doors so i cant just port through the holes for the rear speakers and move those elsewhere. If i thought my fiberglass or fabrication skills were better id try it, but the car is a 2010 and im not ready to hack it up yet. Maybe after i play with more FG first.

So i got a trunk car, used to have a blazer. I need to get bass in this thing. its been exactly a week today since ive had bass in my car, and i miss it so much. Im thinkin subs and port forward. But the thing is, my seat doesnt fold down. I know some of you guys run sub and port forward even if ur seats up. I am going to look into swapping a rear seat from a higher trim line in cuz it will fold, but mine doesnt as it is. Would you still go sub and port forward sealed off from the trunk or what would you do? EDIT: At the moment through the deck IS NOT AN OPTION!!!!

Just got home from work not long ago, heres where im at. Box is going to be 5.6 cubes before bracing after sub, so around 5.5 if you use allthread or dowel rod, tuned to 35Hz. -

he said hed go up to 18. Dual 15 under window cant happen in the 4dr, i hear ya, i just got rid of mine monday. I had the box like i said above, and there was not enough room left over to get 7 under window. I went up to 18". got him up to about 5.5 cubes after displacement. 2dr with rear seats =fail. Ditch the rear seats and get 18s, lol jk. Anyway, ill have that done for ya tomorrow if all goes right. -

Them RFs only need 2.75 according to the RF site, i checked. Hell be able to squeeze something out of it. Only thing is some of the stuff hes sayin i cant quite envision so hopefully he just gave me the max dimmensions i was workin with. My last box in my blazer was 38x16x23 and it came out to a bit under 5 cubes tuned to 32Hz with 58 IN^2 of port. Ill see what i can do for you, Itll probably be the same footprint as my old one but a bit taller and sub and port up -

what you got between the wheel wells? I know that 51" wide WONT FIT EDIT In my 4dr it was 38" but idk about the 2 dr. And isnt 5.5 a bit small for a pair of 15s? How high are you willing to go with your box? -

Ill get workin on somethin. I just got rid of my blazer yesterday, and just built a new box for 2 12s for it a week and a half to 2 weeks ago now. I miss the car so much. But the dealership let me tear the stereo out before they sent it off (but not till i gave a few demos to the service guys, lol). -
Help me choose between two amps right now!

3*25=75*14.4=1080 4*40=160*14.4=2340 more potential from the memphis, even if it were only 50% efficient itd make more power. -
Pretty sure it says on the bottom of the page that the sub is not for playing music, its for dedicated SPL vehicles that play burps only.

Severe? Local dude out of the chicago area. Shits pretty good. May have to post a few songs up.

No it wasnt, just got home from work and changed clothes, time to start buildin, no pics cuz my mom took her camera with to go drop my lil sis off at school. Ill probably snap a few with my cell (sry, its the best ill be able to do.

There is a guy around Chicago, D.O.A. Sleepy, who runs 4k daily to each of his HDC3A18s. HDC3s are the best bang for the buck IMO. They sound pretty good and drop LOW even in a box tuned to 38Hz.

Today was a fail. Spent 112 at menards, way behind schedule and more than i planned on, got started at like 230 PM, planned on finishing by 3 when i woke up this morning. Tablesaw is kinda crappy, ended up using a circular saw, a long level, and some clamps for a fence instead. Kerfs didnt work out, so i changed the design a bit (will use bigger 45s to make up for difference). And didnt get much accomplished, had all the wood cut, kerfs broke, need to cut pieces for port now, thank god i had an extra sheet, looks like ill 2x baffle too!!!) I have pics but im on my buddy's comp right now, so ill get em up later. I work 8-430 tomorrow but that means i got a few hrs to work on it after a boring day of work. Followed by some grillin with friends cuz my family is gone for a week droppin my sis off at costal carolina then spending time with some fam friends who moved to south carolina. But i got work so im stayin home. Plus they need all the room they can get in the hoe for my sisters shit. So im hoppin to have the new box in by firday for the show in algonquin on saturday. Thats the goal.
