Dont know if anyone on here has looked at the list of cars you can buy and be eligible for the program Cash for clunkers list Not much in the way of SUVs with decent room for an enclosure, amps and batteries, lol. (yes these are things im considering when i look at cars, actuallly the first or second thing) I wanna run 2 15s, but idk what to go with, lol. Just wondering if anyone else noticed the size of the cars on this list, theyre kinda "fun-sized" lol

I tried Mechanical Engineering at SIU Carbondale. Its basically a huge party school. Dropped out cuz i never went to class, but still had As on the tests. Took a break from school. Realized that its kinda more on the important side of whats going on in my life, and am registering to go back to school for Electrical Engineering in the spring. Just need to avoid constant partying.

as easy as we have it, i think i wouldda rather grown up in my fathers era. The shit he pulled all the time and got away with you could never do today. And some of the things they got to do you cant do now anyway cuz of the way people are, most of where i live is pretty well populated, but im not far from farm land either, im about 40 miles west of chicago. I would much rather get home from school and go riding dirtbikes and quads and shit than play my 360 or anything. There is nowhere around me to do it, and the places that you could, people wont let you use their land, even though youre just asking to use the border of it. It sucks. But what can ya do?

Basshead, nice avatar!!! On Topic: Ive never heard anyone complain about HDCs except maybe a passanger who isnt used to loud ass subs. I sat in an envoy today with 2 HDC3A 18's each on its own mm4000. And it was fucking LOUD. The box was tuned to 38Hz but it still dropped LOW. He played a C/S Hood N***a and it sounded great. HDCs will comfortably handle 1500 they say, and the HDC3As will handle 3k easily if you know what ur doin. And their most expensive sub listed on the site is the HDC3A 18" and its only 340. Therefore id say the HDC3A is the most bang for your buck.

Went to a show at the maxxsonic HQ in Lake Zurich, IL today. Heard some more HDCs and all i could say was damn. They drop low even in a box tuned to 38Hz, they handle shittons of power, they get loud as fawk and sound great doing it. Ive been trying to figure out waht my next system is gunna be, im between LV4s, LV4 XLs or HDC3s myself. For the money, you cant beat the HDC3s IMO.

Problem was in the rem turn on wire. HU is a POS too. And the fuse holder had an issue. Its a shitty fuse type, it was an 80A fuse and it looked like the fuses in your cars fusebox or on your amp but on steroids. Well, one of the legs of the fuse was black, and there was some melting on the fuse holder. I told her tell her brother before he buys anything else, get a new fuse holder.

what kinda money you lookin to spend? Cant go wrong with HDC3's or LV 4s from what ive heard from the HDCs and what they say about the LV 4s.

UPDATE+ If i touch the leads of my DMM to the power wire for the amp (its 4ga.) to the ground wire for the amp (also 4ga) when not connected to the amp i get a reading of 12.xxVolts, with the HU on or off. Now when i touch those 2 wires togeather, there is no arc, nothing.

ya, im workin on running a different remote. IT IS NOT MY CAR and I DID NOT INSTALL THIS. I tried swapping out my amp into it and as soon as the hu turned on, voltage dropped to 5-7v. And my gains are turned all the way down. Im beyond confused. Im gunna try running a diff remote (they had it off the remote for an amp of the HU, ill try the power antenna loop. Also, the HU heats up a SHITTON and still plays when the ground is disconnected. WTF is with that? Im thinkin they need a new HU but this is the first time ive really had to dig this far as far as trouble shooting a problem is concerned.

voltage at batt does not change when HU turns on, but voltage at amp drops to 7.xx Volts. Im confuzzled. Is there any chance something inside the amp is fuxored? The gains were maxed out, and the sub was wired to a final load of 8 ohms. Any and all help/thoughts/suggestions/whatever is much appreciated. Thanks in advance guys

Alright, well i got a friend who has an 01 shitsubishi (jk) mirage. It has a sony HU and a sony amp pushing a 12" L7. When the car is off, HU is off, voltage at amp reads 12.xx volts. When car is on with HU off. Its 14.0x Volts. As soon as the HU turns on the voltage drops to 7V. Where is the issue? They have been having problems with the amp cutting out, now im sure that is cuz the amp is going into protect because of the low voltage. Anyone got any suggestions or ideas as to what the problem could be? I took the amp out and put it in my car, it still works even though it is an explode

according to my math, 14^2 is 196, 5.5^2 * 3.14 * 2 is 189.6. So the 15 will have more cone area. But id say its so close it doesnt really matter. So now its down to which are more efficient woofers, i would imagine that the more efficient woofers would be louder considering the power will be the same. Well. Those 12s will be wired to 1 or 4 ohms. What is the VC config of the kicker? If the kicker will wire to a final load of 2 ohms, go with the kicker. Otherwise youre getting way less power. Build a bigger ported box for the kicker.

THats why i set my gains with an O-scope. Theyre set so if for some reason my sister drives my car, which never happens but just in case, if she cranks it to full blast its still a clean signal. I couldnt believe when i tried to find the max unclipped level on my hu using an o scope, i had it turned to 50/50 and it was still a clean signal.
