See, but thats doing the same thing essentially. Since it slows down the wave, it takes longer to travel inside of the box. it takes makes it "appear" as if it(the sub) is in a larger volume and "tricks" it into reacting as such. Now in a T-Line, the wave travels along the lenght of the port/vent/line. The fill slows it down, making it take longer, though its the same lenght. Ive had a few drinks, ill figure out a better way to explain it sometime tonight. Lol.

1 step ahead of you, check my xray box. Youll see 4 vertical braces, and that the ports end is rounded over. A lil great stuff maybe? EDIT: Only differences between this one and the first completed box is that on this one the port is measured correctly. brings the tuning down to 35.1 Hz. But the braces and roundover on the port were already there, i cleared the top so you could tell. Kinda wanna put a big plexi window on this thing, but cant really see that happenning, unless i cold get away with a piece of 3/4" recessed into the box. One piece of wood that it will sit in and the other cut out so that you can see through. Something ive wanted to do for a bit, but probably wont happen on this.

Well ive been getting bored, and anxious. I miss having a stereo. But im saving up for a T2000 15. I took some measurements of my trunk, and opened up sketchup. This is a bit over 4 cubes, tuned around 35-36 Hz, 70 in^2 of port area, 1.5" walls. Some bracing. Im going for a SOLID box, i figure this should be alright. Will be giving the sub between 2000-3000 watts RMS. And since im editing, heres a few for 3 DD1508s EDIT: Forgot Pics

I slacked off hard in HS, but there was a reason for that, ended up with a shit gpa, above c but not b avg, good test scores, 27 on ACT and like a 1290 on the SAT (back before they changed the scoring system for it) and applied to SIUC, Bradley, and TN Tech. Figured id get into bradley seeing as i had 2 parents who graduated, nope. TN Tech offered me cash but i chose SIUC. Go to SIUC, its a bit farther than you were looking, but id say that or com. col. for now. I fucked up hard at school, had alotta shit goin on in my life, and now im tryin to figure out how to get back in it as a 21 year old freshman. IDK which community college you would end up at, but ECC (elgin) is alright. It just felt way too much like HS all over again, but nobody really talked to anyone they didnt know from HS already. I was in the same boat as you as far as deadlines, so im just gunna keep workin, get my stereo, then get back to school (only cuz i already got a job payin kick ass money for not havin any education). Also, call admissions at ISU and try and set up an appointment to have an interview if you think the essay was that bad. Doesnt hurt to try and you might get in. Wouldda gotten me into my number one choice of school but i didnt do it. Kicking myself every day since.

All my debt is auto repairs and student loans, so i dont think im off to a bad start, i dont have shit saved really, and no bank account, i got fucked hard by chase and closed it and unill recently havent had steady income enough to open an account. But now i go to work and by the time i get home i dont feel like doin shit, let alone going to the bank to open an account.

Anyone got tips on apillars? Im thinking of trying them in my next build, wanting to get some better sound. Im tall, 6'5, and had the problem in my grand am, blazer, now my lancer, and any car ive been in honestly, where my leg blocks the speaker in the door. Im thinkin of doing a pillars to fix that. But i got a few questions, are there any brands you would reccomend, looking in the 250-300 price range, do you have any tips for placement/aiming to help with imaging, and would you reccomend 6.5s, 5.25s, or possibly going 3way in the apillar, or possibly larger drivers, anything? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I dont know all that much about how to obtain proper imaging. any suggestions would be much appreciated. Seeing as this is my DD and id like for it to look nice, id prefer to keep the pillars looking symmetrical instead of both for imaging for the drivers seat or anything like that

^^^what he said. Shit, ive been thinking of going with a T3 15 and feedin it 2-3kw and im plannin on a good bit of money going to electrical. No offense to the OP but you appear to be less than a noob at this. Look around and learn up. I understand you got a good amp and sub now, but you arent ready for a big power setup yet. Id have to agree with him sayin get another 12, or, get a HDC3 15. Itll take that 1500 pretty well. Ive been in a setup with 2 HDC3A 18s and 2 MM4000.1s. Theyre rated at 1k but will take alot more, the Aluminum coils can take up to 4kw in my experiences. Look up DOA Sleepy from CHI, hes usually on ca, dont think ive seen him on SMD

Funny thing is i have a credit card, and good credit, only 21 now, but got my card when i was 18, didnt activate it till i was 19, bought my stereo with it, and my gas with it, and paid it off. Live inside your means. If you get it for gas, use it for gas and gas only, and make sure you have enough and dont spend that money on other shit.

Any links to any info regarding designing such an enclosure? Looks similar to a rear loaded horn, but i dont know all that much about design theories and what not when it comes to things besides ported boxes. I enjoy reading this kinda stuff. If only i could find a major where i could learn this stuff all day.

I was lucky, when i did my last intall i had one to use, made it pretty easy to make sure you were sending out clean signals, finding out how high you can go on the HU and still have a clean signal. My KD-AR8500 i could turn all the way up and it was still showing a clean (unclipped) signal

^^^^this....BUT, and a big BUT That is a TON of work and time youve put into it and it looks amazing. Is it just me or do the big ass crazy setups like that tend to be a more Euro thing?

Well, i mainly shoot clays competitively and hunt pheasant, so almost all my guns, minus 4, are shot guns. Most of which are O/Us, but theres a few autos, a pump and a SxS. Then theres the .22 rifel, the 30-30, the .22 hand gun and the .40. 2 of the guns in the safe actually belong to my mom, one was an anniversary present, lol. Yup, even my mom likes to go shoot a round of clays or skeet. And i got a few reloaders in the basement, one is hydraulic. So let them number the bullets, untill they start numbering every little BB im fine, lol. And even then, one more reason to load your own, just dont use them for self defense or you are fucked. They can say you made them with the intention to inflict more damage and in the great (shitty) state of IL, youll probably go to jail if you kill someone who broke into your home with a firearm. One thing i cant stand is people who call them weapons. They arent weapons, they are firearms, untill you point it at a human being with intent to pull the trigger. My toys arent weapons, (nor toys really) theyre firearms, and i love them and i will be first in line to go to canada or Mexico if they take them away from me. /rant.
