Haha you tellin me and yeah I just unbolted mine and werever it was ran blockoff also I did the ole string trick to get the right size belt just remember whatever you measure go 1 size smaller on the belt cause it is going 2 need 2 be nice and tight cause you will notice you have a lot of drag with 4 alts.

Eah chevy s-10s are louder than a rex my opinion and I have a ford with less then 100k on it let's see new tranny motor suspension work and whole new exhaust I consider gm the lesser of 2 evils. -
Smell? DC Level 5 15
oldschool replied to Hell-Razor's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
I always noticed in big boxes the 1st thing to go was the spiders then the surrounds 2nd but playing around some I found out smaller boxes my subs lasted longer now then 2 small and I would start blowing off dustcaps or surrounds lol but if it was just right I could use some of the back pressure in the box to help the woofer stay under control and my # went up at the same time where as a big box 4 some reason the #s were lower and the note was a tad lower but I lost some of the punch I had with the smaller box. -

Ok 3 subs do the level 4s pay the little extra and get 5 coils for peace of mind and you'll be good. -

May I make a suggestion try 3 ft. After all displacements with 20 square inches of port per cubic ft. So 60 square inches of port tuned to 32 should sound a bit better and increase the mechanical power handling vs. The 4 cube box. -
DC LVL4XL 15 Box
oldschool replied to CaptainzPlanetz's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
Specs look good but I would double baffle it and sweet looking dustcap.also stay within the recommended power handling range if you are planning to put more to it than is rated I would shrink the airspace down. -

Thanks mayne it was good to finally get to meet you and yeah with some more time I will get her where she needs to be but kevin is going to be a b***h to beat with that s-10. There should be some up in a couple of days I will post a link when they are up. Mainly burp box with music time to time I would have to say stick with the level 5s the spl version is not designed for daily I believe they were designed for those times when every .1 db counts. -

Thanks only 5 more db and I will be where I want to be score wise. -
Ok with extensive testing and tuning I was able to get a 155 flat with a lvl 5 18 and 1 powerbass 5000 putting out a clamped 7398 watts now then today right off the bat I did a 155.2 with the level 5 spl and 1 hifonics sampson a couple of burps later a 155.3 with enough tweaking I should end up with a 156 with 1 sampson but here is the funny part the sampson is rated for more power but is actually putting out less power than the powerbass why you ask well because I am having impedence rise issues so the point of this is the spl puts out a higher # with less power now all I have to do is tweak it some and then I will add the 2nd sampson and I will let y'all know what happens.
