you won't properly be able to charge the batts with a 160 amp alt. I had a stock 150 amp in my tahoe with a kinetik hc1400 and stock battery and it was having trouble with that. stepped it up to the 300 amp and now I can charge both fine.

burn it to an mp3 cd and then import it as an mp3. you lose the itunes quality but now you can work with it. every song I have downloaded lately is m4a which means that I can import it. rarely do I get an mp4...actually it might be m4p. either way you can't use it lol.

.mp4 is itunes locked version of an audio file. that won't work with audacity. .mp3, .wav, and .m4a will work from my experience.

are you sure that you are importing your songs from your CD as MP3's?

right click the song in itunes and say open in explorer then from explorer right click and say open with audacity. its the long way to do it but thats the way I do it and it works.

there are apparently some effects that you can download that are specifically for fixing clipping but I use the compressor effect. the default will work but since I have worked with compressors for filming and what not I tweak a few things here and there.

its not find clipping its show clipping. it should be under view or something like that. you'll notice it with the red like in my picture above.

mine is 1.3.7 should still be the same concept.

for the hell of it I am going to post a picture of the love lockdown I downloaded just to see if it does clip or not. doesn't get to bad until the chorus where I expected it.

get audacity its free and really easy to check. just turn on "view clipping" and every time you open a song the red is whats clipping. it is SOO useful. and thats an understatement.

this is the way I see it. please chime in if I'm wrong. hell I don't know why I said that nothing has stopped you guys before. I downloaded a song off youtube and converted it to mp3 and what not. it had hella crackling as soon as the bass would hit. just in the highs. I thought it was clipping so I wait until I get home to check it on audacity and it has tiny little clips here and there not in the spots I thought unlike other songs that are pure red (if you know audacity) keep thinking more and come up with this... the crackling and "pop-ness" is a sound at all basics. if it is not clipping it should not harm your speakers. it just sounds bad to the ear and aesthetically unpleasing causing us to think it is bad for the speakers.

its KANYE!!!! not itunes. the way he did his talk box made the whole song sound bad.

I've heard some bad things about t4k's dipping too low and not taking it too well. trust me you will want to keep it up. remember every volt you lose is a decrease in wattage.

correct me if I'm wrong anyone... amps = watts/volts 4,000/14.4(I'm assuming) = 278 you might have a little trouble with a 250 amp alt

I do the same as you when going into neighborhoods and what not especially since stealing is big in new neighborhoods like where I live. I always take a different way to get home and I usually go into the neighborhood around me with no houses and tune and mess around then go home when the "coast is clear".
