    If you think your starter is causing heat then you must have a very small or poor connection somewhere. Pictures would help in this case.

    I had a couple rockford prime 12s. They are decent freaking subs. They were pretty loud in a prefab. I wonder what they would have done in a proper box. I also was over powering them a bit haha.

    If your having overcharging issues, it's a fault. Not a issue you need to add breaks or switches too.

    Well just a update, I turned it on and I don't think it changed anything. I swear it was doing it before. And nope, I got the subs on the subs.

    The only thing I can come up with is that the amp needs readjusted when I turn that on.

    When I turn on the HPF on my headunit the output from the subs diminish quite a bit actually. Would I have to regain my amp if I turned that on? Which I really need too. I don't have a mids and highs amp right now. For the LPF I'm using the HU too. Headunit is a pioneer AVH-P5100DVD.

    Where at on the body? Sanded down to bare metal? Pull the RCAS with the headunit off and see if the little pin on the RCA is still strongly attached.

    I bought the red one when it was like $7. I still have it sitting here lol. I used a bit of it for a install.
