you could get reducers that clamp to the wire using a set screw. Darvex sells them. I have seen them at sonicelectronix as well.

Not 100% sure if its better, i have heard great things about mechman alts, i bought mine because i liked the way the case looked and since my alternator mounts on top of the serpentine system, it would be visible when the hood is open. I like my DC alt. Did what i needed it to do and then some.

I used two xs power D975's on my t2000 and it rarely dropped below 13.5v. I'm not real sure if space is an issue for u. Just thought I'd throw that out there

yes it is a beast. I called them today to see if i could re case it, i am going to put a nissan truck build together shorty but the components inside would not fit i was told. This is why i am trying to sell it so i can pick up another alt for the nissan truck

I am putting up for sale my DC power 270xp alternator. It was in a 2006 trailblazer SS, so this alt fits chevy V8's from 2000-2006. I purchased this unit brand new back on March 30, 2010 and have just removed it about 2 weeks ago. I am getting a new car so i am thinning out my equipment that is specific to this vehicle. I am asking $400 for the alt, but all reasonable offers will be considered. i am also open to trades but there are only a few things i am looking for. yes, this hobby can be expensive. Im not really worried about the money as much as i am worried about my shit working and looking right. Im the same way about the truck itself. if the smallest thing goes wrong it throws me into a funk.

I love it too, the sub sounds just as good as the day i put it in. The spider just looked kinda weird to me. Im probably just being paranoid as usual LOL

I wouldnt say it looks like its falling apart as of now, looks more stretched out than anything. no. I was thinking about the warranty but im not sure if it is a warranty repair. i play the shit out of it LOL

I didnt get any, sorry, i thought about that after i put it back in. If i get a chance to pull it back out tomorrow i will post some pix of it. Im thinking a recone is a bit premature for this sub, especially since im only running one T20001 to it. I did pull the gain back a little just to have a little bit of headroom.

I took the sub out of my box today because one of my screws holding my big amp to the back side of the box broke and i had to replace them with some new bolts. Anyway, I was looking at the spider and i see that there are separations in the fibers and i see the yellow of the next spider under the black one. There are no tears in the spider its just a bit of separation. Is this normal? should i be concerned? Thanks for the input

I know the trailblazer is a 14.50- 15.00 truck out of the box. I think the trailblazer ss is slow as balls but this is coming from a guy that had a decently modded evo. Im saying the Lightning would win, not 100% though apology to the op bout the off topic reply

Yup, 2006 summit white SS. my roof sounds like garbage now. Im really thinking a support or something broke, it was never that loud when i first installed the sub. The truck really flexes at full tilt. My mirror aint went yet, but i dont really bang my shit all the time.

Since you have woofers, i would say just get another T10001. You have good equipment, no need to replace it. I hear you on the space issue. my enclosure is just over 6 cubes for one BTL and it takes up nearly all of the cargo area in my SS. Thats the only draw back to big subs(IMHO), well that and shit in your roof coming apart.

well not every ones car was half assed, but i get what you are saying. Did you see the suburban that was there that did like a 156 (probably 153 realistically) he was running 2 SAZ 4500's on two 15's. I thought that was pretty cool. The guy got kinda mouthy from time to time but its cool i guess. that whole bass boxing thing was pretty fun as well. did we talk after the demo? i haven't met anyone other than HHR ed (which is cool as hell) from the forum.
