  1. what subs will you be using? some dont even like tuning below 50hz. you cant just put any old sub in a box tuned to 28hz, you might destroy it in the process.
  2. tripple post failure but OP, if you give me the room you have in inches i will design a box for you and send you pics of the sketchup model and a cut sheet for the wood you'll need. to give you an idea of sketchup models look, i did this one earlier.
  3. you only sacrifice high end bass by tuning low, if you dont know the correct chamber air space to use. : )
  4. Those subs want 5 cubic feet common chamber tuned to 22hz, 30 sq.in(or, a 5.5"x5.5" port mouth, or 4 3" port mouths) of port, 29" long.
  5. post the thiele small sheet in this thread and i will tell you Dc's get pretty damn low, alot better than other brands cough! FiSundownIaSsa lol.
  6. hes saying 250 max, i dont think 2 lvl 4 10"s are under $250 LOL.......
  7. wanna see a vid of my 2 AA assasin 12"s? lol subs dont really matter unless they're in a decent box. AA assasins the same subs as the old model fi x series. why do you want 10"s? you could get a sundown audio SA-15 and a audioque 1200w amp for what you're talking. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Sundown-Audio-SA%252d15.html http://www.audioque.com/AQ1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html
  8. wanna buy a BARELY used deh-7000ub for $110? just came across it on one of my fav. sites, would go nicely in one of your projects, and if you want a budget double-din, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_32848_Pioneer-AVH-P2300DVD.html the only difference in the 2300 and the 3200 is bluetooth, and the 3200 is $110 more, not worth it at all IMHO, i plan on using the 2300 in my jeep whenever i do my rebuild. its a great budget deck, and the fact that it has a mic that you can use to auto-EQ it is fucking mindblowing for the price. Also, its the same deck twisted has, and i dont hear him bitching about it, so it must not be bad, i figure if it wasnt that good he would tell us all about it.
  9. SD is the Sonic Destroyer module in your HU, it was originally in pioneer HUs, but its not in all HUs, you need to upgrade your HU, Punky Fup HUs are a good company. im shitting you, your subs might be the problem, the amp, the HU, its hard to tell.
  10. for 1600w you only need 120a of current. just sayin.i say buy that alt, and get a custom bracket made, or make it yourself. even if it only does 100a, which i doubt, thats still a fuckton of current for the price, but i kind of agree with a HO alt idea, email excessive amperage and see what they quote you.
  11. btw, with your 10" in that enclosure you have now you're getting about -2.7db across the board, thats a super inefficient box for that sub, but thats not a very good sub so im not suprised, but suprisingly, the 12" version of that is a much better sub, you dont see that often.... anyways, we really have to wait for pics and junk like that before we can really tell you what you can and cant do man.
  12. nope lol, it would about the same, but in the box i modeled up with the 2 1" ports the xmax will be limited to about 12mm, due to the small port area. maybe you should post pics of your interior space and we will come up with a creative solution.
  13. yeah but in an enclosure that size the -3dB point would be in the mid-80hz range, he might as well not even have a sub at that point, but i will tell you what, if he did a SA-8 in .3ft^3 with 2 1" ports, 12.5" long, the enclosure would have fairly acurate low end reproduction with a F3 of about 29-30hz, i say go with that setup OP, you wont be dissapointed. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Sundown-Audio-SA%252d8-Sub-woofer.html
  14. are you refering to the E8v.2? the lows on those are dreadful according to modeled up ts specs, not to mention the AQ 12" is only $100 for twice the cone area.
  15. well you could do 2 new Audioque SDC2.0 series 12"s sealed, they only want .6 cubic feet sealed in a box stuffed with polyfill. http://www.audioque.com/NEW-Street-Duty-SDC20-12-D4-Subwoofer-_p_70.html
  16. PSHHH bynines? nahhh... i know what you need http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=264-906
  17. trace it onto cardboard, glue it to the surface, then wrape with vinyl and use a good adhesive.
  18. 2kw RMS on a 110-100a alternator isnt even possible, there is no way that guy is getting what he thinks he is, that setup can only put out enough power to do 1000-1200w before you have power problems, and thats with lights off, that whole deal. if he hooks up a dmm and shows he is getting 2kwrms, i will believe him, but not on a stock alt, and Winn, its really easy, and only costs $20-30. there are plenty of instructional vids on youtube.
  19. 100ampsx14v=1400w, not including headlights, computers, things like that. i say get a batt, do the big 3, and you will be golden.
  20. the local o'rileys color-matched paint doesn't need primer, it primers its self, some how, but every time ive used it its turned out just the same if not better than factory paint, you should ask at your local store tho.
  21. tape off the area, sand the paint off, get a can of colormatched paint from an auto parts store with built in clearcoat, spray it on correctly, let it dry, and viola.
