  1. he just cut a circle in the door and set it in. im sure he ran all new speaker wire. just FYI, the jeep has been passed around twice and is now stripped of subs and amps.
  2. x2 ive seen copper rods for speaker connections on inverted subs. it looked bad ass.
  3. did it pass the cat scan? i like the idea.
  4. so you can do kicks? if so, do a 4" and tweet in the kick and a midbass 6.5" in the doors. the 4" will sound cleaner for midrange and everything will get pretty loud. its what i use and i have a lot more power in my subs than you do so you should be happy with it.
  5. i think thats the year they are taking v8s out of corvettes. so there is no hope for american muscle
  6. did they bottom out? was that the pop? you can take a 9v battery and connect them to the speaker wires and see if they pop the correct way. i always make writing +
  7. more width or height would make the port bigger........ yes.
  8. sadly thats just a part of being a kid. everyone gets made fun of, some get it a lot worse than others. "mommy" coming out to raise hell over it would probably make the teasing worse but a big brother would probably help. but she has to learn to fight her own battles and not just be a helpless victim. i was the little guy in elementary school and i had bullies, but its all about your attitude. if you can teach her to be comfortable with herself and accept her downfalls (allergies, etc.) then she will be able to joke about those downfalls herself in a way that isnt harmful. now she isnt the victim of the teasing but, almost, taking part in it. its like when a fat guy makes a bunch of fat jokes. its funny. and now she is part of the group instead of just being its punching bag.
  9. ya that second one is all retarded. port needs to be bigger, not longer. it looks like you put 1 cube of bracing. thats a holy fucking shit ton of bracing. 3 full length 2x4's would be 1 cube of displacement. your first box was 8.6 cubes and the second one was 13.3 cubes. being so extremely different it tells me you should be doing more research before building this thing. thats not a bad thing, its just where you are at in your learning process. it will save you a lot of work and time. seeing how you want to integrate amps into the box you might want to pay for a good box design. this will help you get it right the first time and not have to redo a box you spent a lot of time on making look cosmetically good.
  10. you know... when we cleaned out my grandfathers place i found the guts to a grandfather clock. i was told its probably worth $200-500 bucks. where did you get this clock from? was it some cheap ass one you bought or did you get it from someone and just dont care about it?
  11. lmao, my 6.5" midbass speakers move my mirrors just about as much as that but hey, at least you had fun. i could tell this would be insanely redneck just from your description. "or n e thing" "its not no 15" "knighshade" "didnt use n e screws or nothing" lol i got a laugh out of it and thats what you tired to do so, good job.
  12. lol nothing shows class like a nice grandfather clock... with a sub in it.
  13. i thought it would be harder too, and i live in california lol. for my first gun i went with a mosin nagant because it was cheap, only $70-100 for a regular one, and ammo is stupid cheap for surplus. .22s are fun because of how cheap ammo is alone lol.
  14. post the box specs. whats the size of the port?
  15. port is too small. be sure to put a dowel or two under the amps to limit the amount of vibration they get.
  16. you just go into the store and pick out a gun. they will have you fill out the paper work and then you come back after they do a background check and the waiting period is over. thats it.
  17. ive seen these done before. its pretty cool. my only guess for how they do the speaker wire is you have a copper ring on the outside of the box for each connection you need, probably only two. then you have a tab on the outside that just touches the copper ring. so as the box rotates the connection stays.
  18. funky pup is the only sub ive heard of being banned. obviously that shop just wants you to buy their stuff. doing what they can to make a living.
  19. I would be careful running a 3500d to a mayhem. it will be fine. i run a 12k to two mayhems.
  20. of course it works its fucking copper. you just look stupid with 4awg speaker wire. if the 160+db vehicles i used to be around that ran two 12ks could use 10awg or 8awg, you sure as shit dont need 4awg speaker wire. I know. Im not stupid. I chose to get those wires because I wanted to be secure. Why get smaller wire when you got the money to get the bigger wire. Anyways like I was saying, they work fine. because every terminal is made for 8awg and putting 4awg means the wire's insulation are probably pushing against each other and much more likely to short out. because it proves you dont understand ohms law. because you only have a 2500w amp. because only noobs throw away money on unnecessary items. sorry, you asked.
  21. of course it works its fucking copper. you just look stupid with 4awg speaker wire. if the 160+db vehicles i used to be around that ran two 12ks could use 10awg or 8awg, you sure as shit dont need 4awg speaker wire.
  22. 14 is perfectly fine. box looks good. build it.
  23. 4awg speaker wire? you fucking kidding me? lol no. 8awg is plenty.
  24. speaker wire and RCAs both carry AC current. you get engine noise from the DC current. the noise filters you put on RCAs just filter out DC current.
  25. I kinda think so too, it's really close, and after rise and other variables, I thought it may just work. I gotta build a new box anyway, so I may just try it and see. It is a beastly little amp, for a 1K. 1244 RMS on the "Birthsheet" If anything, it should go into protect b4 it fries, I WOULD THINK. I know, if it does fry, it will be my fault. if the protection stopped an amp from burning up there wouldnt be any amp repair centers.
