    it only helps if you want to charge at some other voltage. so if you have an alt that charges at 14.4v and you want to charge at 15v then you get the VCM. now if your alt already charges at 15v you cant go much higher without damaging the batteries so a VCM is pretty useless. and just because steve uses one doesnt mean it helps everyone lol.

    ill still have my computer with me and whatever internet connection i can steal from the neighbors lol. dont expect me to upload many vids though. a lot of the comps there are power bassed. im set up for woofer bassed classes so i might be in over my head. we will see how it goes. thank you thanks man, i will.

    so far it looks like ill stop in reno on day 1. salt lake on day 2, then all the way to lincoln on day 3 or stop by my godfathers in denver. thanks for the tips, ill look up those places. any cool stops along the way? figure i might as well see as much as i can on this drive.

    the SX is a great sub but yes, the HCCA will be much better.

    then its the elimination game. try to take one set out of the door and run new wires from the HU to the speakers while sitting on the seat, if they sound a lot louder then its a wiring problem. if they are still quiet then try another HU. if no change is made then its the speakers or crossover.

    my 1st guess would be that they need more power. but just the tweeter got louder? i would check everything again. 9 time out of 10 its user error and not product failure. did you run new speaker wire from the deck to the speakers or did you use factory wiring? is there a stock amp that should be bypassed?

    it looks like im moving to nebraska in 1 week. as long as i can find work itll be a permanent thing. i just waned to take the time to say goodbye to all the local competitors that i have gotten to know, fought with, competed against, and became friends with. its been a blast guys and ill miss you all. bill and mel, rusty, all the team SSC guys, logan, kasey, navi, of corse my own team, kimo and alpine, and everyone else. you have all made it an interesting and fun ride.

    i dont see a problem with that at all. go for it.

    sounds like a bad connection. the amp could be damaged and some circuit is stuck closed but it shouldnt only have low voltage at the amp, it should be across the system. i would also guess that the back battery could be damaged. disconnect the amp and measure the voltage at the end of the wires that go in the amp. or just disconnect the back battery and measure it. might need to let it sit for an hour.

    ya, just go with 12v batteries. im not even sure your amps can run on 16v.

    my buddy had a pair of 12"s off 1000w in his camaro. very simple box, sub up port back. think he got to 148-149db. subs were just some old things he had laying around too. so you dont need much in those things.

    nnnnoooooo. lol thats not how it works. just having a 14v battery doesnt mean it WILL charge at 16v. it NEEDS to charge at 16v. you have to get an external regulator for the alt or send the alt in to get a new regulator. the car will not like 16v+ they do make voltage step down modules so you can keep the car running on 14v while the amps get 16v.

    ah ha, so you have no idea on how to build a box and want us to teach you. well for this i would suggest you contact one of the box designers on here. they will tell you exactly what you need to build.
