  1. darvex has a bass knob that goes in line of your rca's. its made by peripheral.
  2. to answer the second part of your question, you have to aim the subs or port back so that the pressure can "load" in the rear. If you do it forward & into the cabin the subs & port dont have anything to build pressure against since the cabin is so large. if that makes sense. somebody else might be able to explain it better.
  3. Nope, According to their website a P3D412 (i assumed) takes 1.50 cubes min, 1.79 is recommended & 2.10 is max.
  4. Yeah man! I had to do a powerpoint in my comp class last year about something were intrested in. I did mine on my installs & people were really intrested in it. I got an A on mine too. Car audio=good for assignments & projects.
  5. Good call man. Im sure its gonna be hard to see her but hey, its better to be the bigger man regardless of the situation.
  6. I am always thinking about car audio. Always wondering what stuff I can do next & how I can get louder. I just cant get it off my mind. even at work, it helps me pass time when I think about teh bass. I have bass mekanik on my phone In my last college english class all my assignments were about audio & my computer stays on the forum so that I can check it whenever I have some free time.
  7. I dont know if the flip outs are different but on my pioneer deh-6900 red is acc & yellow wire is power.
  8. I ported my P2 10's when I had them. and you have a bigger sub, that can handle more power. Sealed is okay if you want kinda loud but accurate bass. Ported is for some serious bass that will get your panels flexin.
  9. Why sealed? the rms on that sub is 500 watts right? get something like a 1200 watt rms amp.
  10. that depends. Do your headlights dim or anything? if so id get a bigger battery or atleast a kinetic or something. Even if they dont dim it wouldnt hurt anything.
  11. lol I finally figured that out too. I was all about RF until I went to a comp & saw 2 18" FI subs in a walled crew cab silverado. I have been all about the brands on the forum since then. Mainstream isnt bad, but what isnt sold in all the stores is wayyyyyy better. & did anbody see the ports in that box? please tell me there are more than those 2 little ones in the middle.
  12. 4 12's in my S-10 My girlfriends beat & my brothers silverado console Offtopic, sorry I have to ask FiBTLfor life, do you compete Iasca or something? Just wondering how comparable your scores are to like a meca score.
  13. ^^^^thats freaking hilarious! I mean it would suck if it happened to me but still. That dudes expression had to have been along the lines of "did I get the f'in strike or not?!" & then he was probably like "F I just broke muh screen :'("
  14. i have a pioneer deh-6900 & I was using the blue connector in the back for an ipod but now im just using the usb. I think you might be able to down some of the settings on your HU & turn the amp up more. Thats what I did. I had my HU doing way more that it really needed too. My settings are: bass 0, HPF off, EQ is diff from yours but 50hz is +2 at the max, sub level is 0 @ 80 hz. I know my settings are different but it might help you. I had my amps getting stanky after a few minutes of slammage.
  15. well if my amps were doing rms it would be 1100 each.i think uts probably around 7 or 800 though. Even sealed its peaking at 140.3 db's (meca) with the driver door open. Iv done some work since then though & its louder but I just cany hang with the guys in my class. I think my tuning is too low for SPL but for drive-by it could be really good. Iv been told a smaller box will get more deebeez but my freq will go up & I dont want that.
  16. you can check your rca's though. set you dmm to ac voltage & put the positive to one part of the rca & the negatice to the other (outer ring or post) then play a song with some beat that changes from high to low, see if the meter changes with the beat. thats what I do anyway.
  17. x2. my power acoustiks took .5 ohm & didnt get hot or anything & I ran them like that for a while. Yes, we can move on now.
  18. well thats what im afraid of. but if im thinking right exposports box calc says a 2.75x12x10 port will tune it to 41 hz. Im just not sure that it works like I think it does.
  19. Since this thread is about regular cabs ill post it here. It might help someone else. I have a 3.9 cube box, sealed for my 4 12's. SS says they need 2 cubes each to port them, so i'd need a minimum of eight. but...what if I were to try to port the box I have now? epic fail?
  20. I stuffed those 4 SoundStream 12'd in my regular cab S-10 <<<<<<<<< Its pretty comfortable but I sometimes wish I had a little more legroom. Im not gonna trade 140+ db's for it though. zfrerichs I have a question for you regarding box design.
  21. Im with him. It'd be right up my alley if it was on 20's, most of which would be tucked in the fenders. But im a minitrucker so that the way I think every car should be. what about 4 18's?
  22. I can jack the emblem off my grandma's escalade. lol she def wouldnt notice its missing.
  23. My grandparents have a dachshund (long haired weiner dog) & its 16 almost 17 years old. I grew up seeing the dog everyday & its always been in good health. but lately when im over at there house iv noticed hes been acting wierd. my grandmother told me hes just about totally blind, he doesnt respond to verbal commands, he has trouble moving, & he cant control his bladder or anything. I tried to tell her it was time but she said she just cant do it. I have a dog of my own & I know I couldnt make the decision to put him down.
