So every body has that one car/truck/what have you that they spent all that money on, had just the way you wanted, had the newest shit, and HAD TO SELL IT!. Knocked up your girl, DUI, Divorce...whatever reason post it too. mine was a 95 S-10 that i built when i was 18 in my garage all by hand, with help only to lift the bed on and off during re-halfing and paint. Sorry if this is in the wrong area... Steve & Admin, I wanted to take a moment and express my gratitude for this Forum. You see, I'm a 30yr SEVERE Manic depressive/Bi-polar sufferer, along with the one lung thing and other health issues. I am a professional Tattoo artist and it has my heart and soul, but recently even my art hasnt kept the good days out numbering the bad, until i decided my truck needed something to listen to and stumbled upon SMD googling one night. During the past 6 or so weeks i have been out of the bed and in the parking lot..haha Im doing my build, (along with a friend or two's)in my Apartment complex parking lot/renta-garage, and LIFES BEEN GOOD! Running the extension cord 150ft everyday for power is so worth it! This isnt the first forum ive belonged to or been active on, but i will say its been the most laid back and helpful. Im not new to car audio at all, but shall we say out of the loop...big time... My last system was over 8yrs ago and things have changed so this place has been a wealth of catch-up for me, and a place to keep my mind busy when i start feeling down. Im not trying to be a net-kiss-ass or anything, i just wanted it known that its not just about Car Audio for some people, and that we(I) APPRECIATE THE WORK it takes to keep it goin.. Desktop Dyno isnt loaded on this puter.. but i would be curious to see what the average RPM would be in high gear on the shaft in "X" vehicle...Then you could choose the corrsct pulley setup to get the most out put at you given RPM..

Just did a Caddy this way. Had it subs back port threw the seat, sucked, subs up port back was LOUD.

The last comp i was in i ran the 0-150watt class. I think it was like 0-150,151-300,301-600,601+up. Then it went to cone area watts didnt matter. Shit that was 1997 or 98 tho.. Hope to see some of you at slamology, Im getting excited about seeing all the new fangled set-ups running around!

I dont have high expectations, but at the same time dont want to embarass myself to badly. I have no experience with a TL mic but the old shop here had a linear mic and the 2 twelves did: windows up doors closed 6in from dash/window 143.4 on bluberry-yum-yum Driver door cracked in the pass. kick 143.7 on BBYY as well From what ive read it seems that would be in the high 30s on a TL. Is anyone else going to be at Slamology, maybe ill just have to come bug the hell outa one of ya.

It depends on the bracing you currently have id say. Id does help with airflow alot tho. Think of a car exhaust, if its got smooth bends the air flows better than the crinkle bent crap from Midas, same inside your box, Squared edges hinder smooth flow. You could pick up a tenth or 2 id guess if your box flexs alot, if the box is flexing, the pressure inside isnt exiting as forcefully as it could.

Whew..the sides are the same hieght as the XC windows so im clear. The box i have sketched up is 20hx62wx17d but i needed the 2inches under the box for Crossovers,wiring, ETC. For 8.4 Net(2.1/sub) with 124in^2 of port, @ 37hz Would i be better going with a little less cubes and tuning a Hz or two higher? My main concern is that im gonna be under powering the subs a little. They are 800wrms and at 1ohm im splitting 1500 between two subs per amp.

By the looks of it, Slamology will be my first show if things go to plan. So the way i understand Sat is DbDrag and Sunday is Usaci Outlaw. Lemme guess Different rules for the 2 days... If its the side windows, im pretty well screwed i think, wheres my Tape measure and keys....

So since i found SMD, and realized that this Hobby/Sport is alot more affordable than it used to be, i have got the bug bad! I want to get back into competing but the rules are so different than i last used and to be honest, i cant figure out what class id be in to save my life. My main question is this, The rear window in my truck is 25in to the bottom edge but the sides are only 22, what window will they use to go by cuzz that extra 3inches would really come in handy... 2nd, if my setup includes 4) 12s, 2) 1500.1 and 1) extra battery below the window what class is that? What about 2) extra batteries?? I dont have one as of yet but will be doing a HO Alt as well, does that change classes? Sorry for being such a Newb, but who better to ask than the best around...
