o well.... back to the drawing board..

yeah I'm gonna seal it off because that would help out the most i think and as for the psi recone if i get it done it will be a more efficient recone and it will be dual 1 ohm so i can get about a 0.7-0.9 ohm load after impedance rise and hopefully that will give me more output than being run at a 1.3-1.4 ohm load and plus the added efficiency of the recone might help. and yeah your right it wouldn't really do much if its completely sealed off from the trunk. The recone would help you get more power into the sub, you just gotta ask yourself if its worth it to you. The recones arent exactly cheap, shipping alone is like 30 bucks, haha. Th "Cleanest" way to do it would be an even layer of spray foam covered with sound deadening to make it look better. Also keep in mind, dropping below 1 ohm is ALOT more demanding on your cars electrial system... I would make sure you have the big 3 done, and a second battery. Yeah I live in memphis which is about 20 minutes away from psi's shop so I can drop off my sub with dave at psi and he told me around $120 for the recone and I have done the big 3 and I'm eventually going to get a deka 9a31 for a battery in the back then I should be golden as for keeping up with the amp. Also wouldn't spraying that foam stuff leave a huge mess if I ever want to take out my system? Yup, it would leave a mess, lol. Im sure there is a way around it though... maybe put a layer of alminum foil down on the parts you will spray before you spray the foam? Should give you a tight seal, and should be fairly easy to remove when needed. I have never done it, but im sure someone who has done it will chime in it takes a lil more work on your part but me and my brother did something like this to his car like they are saying make a frame slides over the box and once we got it fit, we took some super wood slide it under the box fiber glassed the corners that kept everything neat and in order so when we put the foam in it didnt get all over everything.and just got a beauty board to cover the front . i think he metered a 144.6 with 2 10s on about 2k

A decent difference u get ither 1500 @ 1 ohm or ur other option is.5 ohm but would try that. For best use of power get dual 4

srry to thread jack but no need to make a new topic when this has the same purpose of what im looking to gain knowledge about Im also in the market for a amp that does around 4k, and i know about the sundowns and fosgate and American bass and all the other great companies out there but im looking for 4k on somewhat of a budget and i see that audio savings has a decent deal on the Powerbass XA-4000D does any body have an recommendation or opinions on the subject amp? is this a good option or could i do better for around the 600 dollar mark... thanks in advanced

i dont really know the formula to find out how much power i can run but i got called Matt at mechman today and they actually make a 270 amp alt for my escape so im going to order that around Christmas time and order a new kinetik 1400 for the front and two 1800 in the back also upgraded big 3 wont be charging a super high voltage prob say around the 14.4 mark thanks in advance

lmao.. not gonna lie ray math isnt a strong suit.. but since you broke it down like that exactly what is the purpose of having a higher input voltage i was always under the impression that the higher the volt the lower the gain could be therefore getting same results of loud bass with less of a gain

yea it was.. kinda got the amp a a great deal hard to pass off... so i got it and really didnt know what i was getting into... maybe somebody would trade for a sundown 2500 or a 2000 plus cash..

ok so now broken down like this... i have an orion 2500d and a infinity kappa4 for my lows and highs and its all being ran off a pioneer 920bt well im not clipping but i know if my pre-out volts were a lil higher than the 2.2 that the pioneer provides i might be able to lessen the gain and that in the end reduces how hard bot of my amps work and how my electrical preforms. so my question to you is do i need just a line drive or a eq if so what brand and and which one.. thank in advance..
