i was just as discusted as you guys are. that system has more problems than just the enclosure, the power wire was ran through the fender into the door jam. the ground cables had no ring terminals, they stripped the wire enough to wrap it around a bolt. i'm surprised it even worked and didnt burn to the ground. now i'm waiting on my friend to see what he wants to do.

it 2 cu ft tuned to 32 hts after all displacements. i could probally get around 2.25 if i didnt have the storage area i added to the front of it.

i told him we need to rip it out and start over. the cones are seperated from the surrounds. so he needs to find new subs, and make the new enclosure to withstand the elements. he doesnt want a tonneu cover.

for now i'll be running a cadence z1200 rated at 1200 watts at 1 ohm.

didnt know where to post this, but anyway, my friend picked up a 95 chevy stepside. that had a blow through done. 4 alpine type r 12's, run off 2 fosgate amps. he came over to show me the truck and the system. he cranked it up, sounded ok then started sounding like shit. who ever built the enclosure didnt treat the wood and there was no tonneu cover either. so with the rain and snow leaked into the enclosure and did this. i like how the previous owner tried to silicone the cones.

i through it in the truck today to get another piece cut to fit to the dash and i also threw in the old pr 12 just to see how it was going to sound. i was suprised. i was worried about port noise and had none.hopefull by next weekend i can get this finished up, and i'll make a build thread.

i got my lvl 4 12 today and it is one sexy bitch. rusty is the man, he took care of me and will be doing more business with him soon. heres some pics.

yes i want pics, what color are you going to paint it? what other mods do you have planned for it.

i'd take it down and have a mechanic look at it. have him look at the transmission, check all the steering components. also it looks like it has a 6" suspension lift, and a 3" body lift. what size are the tires? see if he has paper work for all the mods that were done. hopefully he re-geared the axles, if not i would be leary of the transmission holding up much longer. $4k for a 97 chevy extended cab is pretty cheap, for the price he is asking it seems something might be wrong with it.

i'll be making panels wrapped in vinyl to cover up the amps on the back wall of my 98 chevy single cab, i need a way to attach them. what type of clips,and where can i get some. also might make some panels for my sub enclosure as well.
