  1. Who me? Ya i believe i am still on there somewhere. But my name isnt J.W.
  2. Ya 8 to 12 Dc lv3 12" would go super low and sound unreal. IF i ever do another big build it will be with lv3s i still think its the best sub DC makes.
  3. DO i need to upgrade subs? If so i will wait for the new DC A Team to be released this summer. :01nocomment8so: ahaha And as a side note i ran 6 lv5s last year. I upgraded to 8 Xls this year.
  4. Well i have played a pair of lv3 12s off a Stetsom 4k2d giving the subs everything the amp had i had zero problems. Keep the power clean and controlled and you will be safe. Also have a fellow running a pair of lv4 12s with a pair of DD M2 strapped so thats rated 1700 per sub. He was having issues heating up subs with this so i un-strapped the amps set the gains and now he has about twice the bass he had before and no heat issues. How does that work?
  5. DC Xl 15s go low, they go very low infact. I think you need to look into the enclosure for your missing lows, not the product. MDF is alot cheaper then new subs, and in most cases you will see bigger gains from mdf then subs. Thats just my thoughts. Other then that i dont know what you know but i know people who know they know what they are doing. I have seen them with the most messed up Xover settings on their amps, or decks which have ruined the performance of a good sub. You know? lol
  6. Answers as follow DC DC And a Jimbo
  7. I have heard the Sampson amps dont like daily use, but if its for burps you want i say drop it as low as it will go!!!
  8. But also lets not forget the new rear fill. haha
  9. this explains it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnsUVX2_M_M
  10. Neat build for a car. Should sound like a home theater with a killer frontstage.
  11. Again i need to thanks Rusty for providing me with such great equipment this year!!! All show these subs held up great everything was top notch. Even with 2 bassrace runs 161.5 and over, and a Record Psychlone run, and a few burps nearing 165s. Awesome build on these things, i will fill you in on a little secret, its the man who builds them that makes the difference.
  12. This explains it all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShIcWcP5rQc Never got any good vide once the wheelies became of video quality. Us Canadians know how to rock it out!!! lol Ya Kyles flip over was classic, but after more shirt juice he got better. Shirt juice the drank of champions!
  13. I laughed when i read this. To me its just another day making some noise. Shit happens when you get caught in the moment of the demo! Things to know about Jimbo are it uses CAT extended life coolant which is red. It is not atf, it is not rusty, it is red. None of the original gauges work due to the splzd effect. The aftermarket tach does not like bass and is useless above 155, and even worse above 163. My stereo is much louder then my engine while in the cab there for i had no idea it was reved up that high. The problem was i think a combination of a few things, 1 the fan belt was a bit short and out alot of tension on all the pulleys, 2 the engine reving, 3 the bass takes a tole on every part of the truck inside and out. It did not overheat in the convention center. The problem was that all 4 bolts that secure the water pump came lose and the one side gasket blew out. The water pump is fine, but i replaced it with a new one just to be sure figured why not in in here lets do it. Uhhh ya if you have any more questions ask away. As a note Jimbo will probably be trailered to finals next year as much as it hurts me to say that. Big thanks to The Leg Man for using his wheels to get the parts, Vernon Sargent for the hook up at Autozone, Wheels for the wheels and the navigation, the strange dude in the back seat for not saying to much. Also i cant remember his name but one of PeteS buddies for helping me out with the dirty work, and PeteS for the use of his oil drain pan to catch the mess.
  14. Thanks Don, i had a good coach. To bad i was to loud for bassrace, but the psyclone win was huge!!! Its a good mix of SPL, with ground pounder lows, and SQ all mixed into one.
  15. hahaha Met these guys at finals Wheels and the Leg Man. We tried to feed them some Shirt Juice! But seems guys from Texas dont like to rock.
  16. You will see a all out run in qualifying. I dont plan on breaking out in eliminations. But like i said you will want to be around for qualifying. I dont know if i will gain spl at Tulsa or lose yet but with a good start assuming it is = to here you will see 162 bassrace if not more. I think thats pretty good for a Jimbo that is driving 30+ hours to the show, this is a real ground pounder!!! anyone that sees me fell free to come say hi, would like to put faces to names. :zorro:
  17. So this means you will be there? I need a good pit crew. And to the Ontario guy i dont think anyone in North America has a longer drive then us guys from Western Canada. Yet each year doesnt matter where finals is we go! Half the fun is in the drive, the other half is in hanging out with some American buddies and doing crazy shit..... No excuses for us only good times with good people.
  18. Man i am just pumped up for finals!!!! IT is going to be insane. I can hardly keep my enthusiasm in. :drunk: haha I am jacked up, just have a some final tweaks to do tomorrow and i am ready. So who else running DC is going, either to compete or spectate? I think i may have talked Mr. Rusty into coming down..... Everyone post and show him who all want to see him at the biggest show of the year! YEAH!!! Myself and Team Riprock will be departing this tuesday to embark on the very very long drive. Should be there either thursday night or friday morning.
  19. lol You are right that made no sense what so ever.... Must have stopped to think and forgot to start again. Obviously im talking about the subs. And yes i ran as you said. They will take big power if you keep it clean. I would put a DC 3000.1 on a pair if you wanted to get max potential and keep with DC.
  20. If you noticed early in the hat trick you see a hat absolutely rocket out of the window well it landed about 20 feet away from the truck. I think you can even see my smile a little after that. Thanks guys for the good words. We will see you all at finals? But just so you know i will NOT be doing any demos till after the show. I need to keep my batteries charged and everything cool so i can hopefully break my bassrace record again. I dont even care if i win bassrace i just want you guys to all see the loudest LEGAL bassrace qualifying run i can do. There will be no red lighting, no tricks or cheats just straight up LOUD!!!!
  21. I have done this reconing a other manufactures sub with DC lv2 parts.
  22. I have powered a pair of lv3 12s with a Stetsom 4k2d daily. The subs took everything that amp could offer, and you know Stetsom amps make lots of power! I have said it before, personally i think the lv3 is the BEST sub DC amps!!! This is a big statement but is truly what i believe.
  23. Thanks everyone. I am in Western Canada so driving to the States to demo it doesnt work for me lol. I will be at finals though. Hope all goes well and we can do my 162+ bassrace there. Just curious where is that dude who said my rims were not big enough now? lol Here are some more vids for your eyes.
  24. This post is for Rusty after chatting on the tele with him today i promised i would get these up. Got a few more cool vids i will get up soon. What do you need to know? Both Bassrace runs are 100% clean no breaking out of red lighting, truck is sealed, no "venting" everything is legit to anyone who questions what they see. I know there was some upset people about my last 160.5 run and im sure it was all a fluke and i will never be able to do it again, but here we go.
