Key Fobs remote lock/unlock
Hotdog replied to Hotdog's topic in Security Center - Car/Home Alarms, devices, tactics, tips....
$40.00 for 30 seconds I get the 40 back in a couple days.. insurance FTW -
Cold as hell in Illinois right now so usually I warm the car up. Normally I keep my key and remote on separate key rings so I can start the car up and then I get out and lock it with the remote. Well this time I get out and instead of locking it with the remote I just hit the lock on the door before I close it. Well apparently if you lock your car with the remote while it is running then you can unlock it with the remote while its running....but if you lock your vehicle with the door lock your remote will not unlock it.... 40 bucks and a locksmith later I am back in. Good thing I got insurance for this. So now I know not to lock it with the door lock... lock it with the remote. also I did not realize how quick someone can get into a car.. it only took him about 30 seconds and he was taking his time talking to me.

Charging Multipal batteries
Hotdog replied to Hotdog's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Might as well keep it as it is a starting charger.. can use it for other vehicles. got it on sale for 69.00 on black friday I found one that said it was fully automatic and can charge all types of batteries including agm. Do AGM chargers charge at a different voltage or something? -

What is the main difference between a charger made for charging wet cell batteries and a charger that is made to charge AGM batteries? -
Charging Multipal batteries
Hotdog replied to Hotdog's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
OK.. I had the charger on the front Bat for 7 hours at 40amp charge. Then pulled the charger off. got the dimm out and tested all three batteries Front battery which was a wet cell battery = `12.8 at rest and 14.59 at idle Both AGM batteries were 12.8 at rest and 14.5 at idle -
Charging Multipal batteries

I think the manual said that 40amp was a 3 hour charge for one battery. So I was thinking if it were charging 3 batteries it would take 3 times as long... so 9 hours? or would it still charge all 3 batteries at the 3 hour charge time? Would it be better to hook the charger up to the the AGM battery for charging or does it make a difference on what battery I put the charger on?
