So they are in the center console right? Are they pretty much back-to-back with nothing in between them? And do you have anything in the doors or on the dash(to widen the stage)?

The midbass is a separate crossover and there are jumpers, which I had set at normal for midrange and attenuated for the tweeters. Basically, one speaker wire splits into 3, to input the 3 signals to the crossovers. The final ohm reading was 4.1-4.2, not powered up of course. New amp is hooked up, but the crossovers are out. No issues. I really think one of the crossovers had a short that I couldn't find, that would only show up under power. I don't know how to check each and every component of these crossovers.

Thanks for chiming in, dude. He emailed me all the info. The heatsink only got up 84 degrees after an hour of play time. Either that fan is on 'roids, or there is an issue with the crossovers. I already took them out of the car and will be running active. I really appreciate that you guys took the time to test it out and everything.

How about a speaker out of phase? The way this component set works, there were 3 speakers on each channel plus crossovers. If just one of the 3 speakers is out of phase, would that cause some weird things to happen on that channel?

That's the problem, I haven't learned what the issue is here. Yet.

Well guys, Rusty just let me know that he ran it for 4 hours on 4 6x9's and it hardly got warm. So even though I won't be using it anymore, I need to troubleshoot what caused the issue in my car. If you have followed this topic, you know I checked all speakers individually and the crossovers nominal resistance. The only thing I can figure is at least one crossover is fucking up under power, which I don't know how to check. I am not using the crossovers anymore, running active, so if anyone wants the task of testing them, let me know. I'll pay shipping to and from you. I just want to reiterate, the amp is fine, and I feel like a dick for even making this thread.
