  1. I have to question this. I have a 3way set rated at 150 per side. Now, if you break that set down to individual speakers, each driver is rated at 150. So shouldn't the crossover be able to handle 450 watts?(3x150)
  2. Namosh is right. The lead prosecutor has a shady history. That, combined with the mishandled evidence, she was sure to be released. There was evidence of MANY people in that room with no real way to pinpoint the actual killer. Amanda knows what happened even if she didn't do it.
  3. The power handling of the crossover is a good question. I would like to know this as well. You don't want to bridge the amp, you will lose your stereo effect.
  4. Its going in for a checkup and will have a clean bill of health when it gets back.
  5. Fuck that song. Sorry, I raged there a bit. My wife plays it a lot and I cannot stand these fuckers.
  6. I'll find out in the morning if its a warranty thing or not. If it is, i'm sending it to DC. If not, i'll be sending it to Ray to try and figure it out(because he's closer).
  7. I'm sending it to DC so they can check the heat issue. It is still for sale. If you are interested, let me know, and it can be shipped straight to you from there when its diagnosed.
  8. Even more reason to believe a problem has arisen inside this one, since it does not seem to be a universal issue.
  9. Ok, i'll call you guys tomorrow. Im trying to sell it, so I need to know if there is a problem, so I can sell it as such.
  10. Just a few months Edit: Installed the second week of April.
  11. I need to sell this to get a new active 6-channel. You all have seen it in my build log. It goes into thermal protect after playing it loud for 30-45 minutes. Reset it and it comes back on. I don't know if there is a problem with it, or if it is just because it is so damn hot in the trunk. It plays good and is powerful as hell, just needs breaks lol. I'm asking $300 +shipping for it. Its ~30-35 bucks to ship Fedex, if I remember right. Check the build log in my sig for pics, i'm on the super seller list. If you are interested and need a vid or something to prove it works, just ask.
  12. I hooked up the 6.5's straight to the amp, no crossovers. It took 45 minutes and guess what, overheated again. So something isn't right with the amp. Thinking about sending it to Ray to put it through some tests.
  13. CHeck out my UBL for quick pics of the September SOTM winnar!!

  14. Original MJ is great for SQ. And some tracks have nice bass already.
  15. I really want to go full active, Xmas is coming lol. I would need to add another amp.
  16. No Kickass, I didn't elevate it but I did put a fan back there to blow the hot air around. I checked the power/ground connections but not the fuse connections, i'll do that. Ray suggested a way to test the amp and crossovers that i'll be trying in the morning. Thank you all for the ideas, helps with the frustration. I'll report back tomorrow after some more testing.
  17. I would guess 4 sets of 3 way comps. 4 sets = 8 crossovers and 12 speakers. You got it CJ. Each side of each set has 2 crossovers, 1 for midbass and 1 for mids and tweeters. SQMonte, Its 2 full sets. Think of it as 1 speaker per channel, even though its three speakers. I've already ruled out the ohm load being the problem. I just checked each speakers resistance, all good. I also played each speaker by itself to check the freq range, they all play the right freq's, leading me to believe the crossovers are working properly. It has to be that it is getting way too hot in the trunk with it sealed off. The fan is just blowing hot air. Im going to move it inside the car tomorrow and play it turned up and see if there is any difference. What components inside an amp could cause excessive heat if they are not working right?
  18. X2 On this. It sounds like a bad speaker in all honesty. In most cases I have seen personally, that seems to be the problem every time. To bad you live so far from me. Id hook up with ya and help out. GL sir Heading out to check the speakers individually. Already checked the rca's, they're good to go. But i'll give the remote wire a look. Working with a flashlight fml. And thanks Mayhem.
  19. I THINK I know what i'm doing lol. I hope its a single speaker and not the amp. If anyone can think of anything else to check, please post it.
  20. I hope I find a bad one. There's 12 speakers to check, if I have to unhook 1 at a time......
  21. I went and checked the ohm load at the amp with the system OFF, 4.2-4.4 on each channel. I also checked each channel with the system ON(don't know if that's the thing to do) and got some crazy readings. Checked the resistance at each crossover with the system OFF and all readings are good. So unless crossovers can be fucked up somehow and still read proper, its not them. @98hoe; Rainbow 3-way components. SLC365.25NG
  22. How did you test the crossover? multimeter on the caps and little diodes. caps where shot Well, I have 8 crossovers to check. Be back later.
