laughing so hard i think i shit my pants.......yes i did.lol -
thanks for your input. i was thinking the same thing

im not wanting to put 5000 watts to each sub. at most 2000 but i would wire the subs depending on the subs rms. for my install a memphis 4000 watt monoblock will be used. so how much better is a btl than a bl?
-
so the btl is far better? i know the btl is a spl sub but how would it sound in a daily setup? any other 18" subs you would recomended that are around the same price. i liked that hatchback setup with 2 18" btl fully loaded on like 10,000 watts.

how much better are the btl vs bl subs. wanting to get 2 18" fi subs that will be powered by a memphis 4000 watts rms monoblock. what are the differeces between bl and btl? other than btl being 2000 watts and bl being 1000 watts.

no, the guy thinks that 2 seperate chambers are louder than one common chamber. if designed witha program like bass box pro 6 you can design it for a flat responce with one or two chambers it doesnt matter. what makes a flatter responce is the tuning of the box. cabin gain can cause a unwanted spike, but if your looking for spl, then tuning a few hz below when a vehicals cabin gain begins = loud a hell

not flat flat heres a link for more info: http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/34579/131062.html

Flat response A characteristic of an audio system whereby any tone is reproduced without deviation in intensity for any part of the frequency range that it covers

some of the beginning stages of this build got erased. ;( anyways these are the ones left. the customer wanted a flat response. also he wanted his 2 12" subs in there owen chambers vs one common chamber. i desided to go with each chamber about 1.75 cubes and tuned at 30 hz. time for pictures.... front baffle and port w/ fiberglass applied. i wanted to have both baffles and port pieces be one kerfed piece of mdf. but that could'nt happen cause i dont have the means to transporting the uncut mdf sheet to my house.( car not a truck) painted the ports black then i installed the baffles/ports into the rest of the enclosure. not looking to bad. accept the to differnt shades of mdf ;( alittle sanding will fix that. once the front baffles and ports where installed, i poured the rest of the glass into the enclosure. the box sitting titled the puddle of glass set to make a nice and smooth corner sanded the baffles, and test fitted the subs before the customer showed up. not looking to bad when the customer showed up he was very impressed and couldnt wait to see how it sounded. we had to remove the back seat of his 94 civic lx 4 door to install the enclosure into the trunk. sub covers installed ( not my idea ) and ready to pound the hell out the civic. damn those new blaupunkt velocity subs are no joke. i was very surprised with how loud they got. dude only had a 800 watt audiobahn monoblock with subs wired in parelle showing a 4ohm load. the sub's manual says 1200 watts rms and 2000 peak. but damn that shit was loud. anyways with 2 smiles from ear to ear i knew it was another job well done.

thanks, im going to build it after i figure out the demensions that work best for my tsx.

i redesigned a bit and came up with this. i like the slot port better. thanks for your idea. i think if i get some spare time im going to try it out.

flared ....i dont know why i didnt think of that. i was thinking of glassing the inside for smoother flow to. i think 2marrow i will start building and testing out the design. a 12" treo i have needs a home. the program i used was sketchup pro 5 full version. i downloaded it for free on one of the torrent sites

looks like new dual 40hm voice coils 1050 watts rms $250 obo or trade for a 2000 watt rms monoblock

check your mobo for a jumper that sets how fast your cpu and ram operates. set for whatever your cpu and ram is rated. i had the same bs going on and i checked the jumpers, never had any bsod or restarts.
