  1. yeah i figured he could. but call matt and hell hook you up. you could prolly go with a 270 amp alt. with the voltage module you wont have any lights. but id get the biggest bat you can fit up front and then a d3100 in the back. you should be good
  2. yeah lol. those lights are pretty stupid. but like i said call up mechman and he should be able to get you situated. there might be a bypass that he makes. i know its pretty vehicle specific but it will allow you to control your voltage and bypass your computer
  3. if i were you i would call mechman or someone to see how yours will work. they have more experience with more specific vehicles. and mechman has great customer service and is great about returning phone calls and answering and questions you have.
  4. ive actually encountered this. the computer did not want the high output alt to work. it would set off all kinds of dash lights saying service engine soon. then when the new alt was mounted outside on the bracket it had alot of ground noise. and me and some more experienced poeple could not figure out what was causing it. and Kriss i would have at least 3 or 4 large batteries for a system like that. but yes it is both good and bad to have a pcm controlled alt. if you alt is in sufficient the computer will notice before hand and set off warning lights in your vehicle
  5. well you would need to figure out how much amperage your amps will be pulling from your battery. so if you have plenty of batteries and that alternator then you should be good. you need to have enough amperage to be able to charge your batteries enough to keep up with the demand of you system. it only takes about 50 amps i believe to run most of the accesories in your vehicle. such as having ac on and lights etc. so make sure you have enough batteries to run your system. since having an alternator that is large enough to power everything including a large system is going to be difficult and impracticle.
  6. a 2:1 ratio is for every 1 cubic foot of sealed side there should be around 2 cubes on the ported side. that is net volume. so you should look up the manufacturers recomended sealed box volume and go from there. say your 10 needs .5 cubes for a sealed box. you would need 1 cube of volume for the ported side of the enclosure
  7. your engine is going to try and control your alternator to give the vehicle the power it needs to run first. so if you have a large alternator with enough power to distribute everything evenly and fill the engines needs you should be fine.
  8. the power train control module controls various engine electrical as well as the tranny. basically anything that has to do with moving the power both electrical and mechanical around in your vehicle
  9. okay. usually people go with a 2:1 ratio. thats about the minimum that people go with to get the most output from their stuff. however the curve is gonna be a little peaky. so you do need to decide what kind of area youd like to get the most out of your sub. such as the lows or mids or highs if you want. its not going to cut out the highs if you go on the lower end. but they will not sound super impressive, however the low end will sound really amazing.
  10. id start with what kind of ratio you want. do you want more of a flat curve or a more peaky curve.
  11. those things look fuckin awesome! i want some but i have a 4th order so i wont see them. unless they offer some structural advantage
  12. yeah they should be pretty nice. hoping my math is all lookin good
  13. i wouldnt recomend an xl in a sealed box. however they do put them in 4th orders. so i guess if your box is designed correctly it may work
  14. the first test Tline is gonna be a alpine type r dual 2 ohm 12. then if that turns out well i might do one for two sa12's on a bc 2k in a hyundai elantra lol (like a half wall) my next 4th order is a wall with two level 3 18's with level 4 soft parts and some other mods. hopefully on a 3.5k
  15. yeah they can get out of hand lol. im gonna play with a few in my dads cherokee cause its big enough to do basically everything. and just see how they sound. then ill work on the size issue
  16. I can help you pm me your goals and max dimensions and the specs on he sub i can help you as well. i have a 4th order in my truck and it plays stupid low with alot of output. its got amazing sq i actually prefer them to ported boxes. so if space is available i would definitely do all i can to make one. im going to try out a 6th order in the future as well and i can pm how it works out. sound good man let me know how that 6th works out! will do. first i gotta get the Tline down
  17. 18. they both have great sq and great output. however a 6th order is more difficult to tune and requires more math. there are fewer people that can help with 6th orders. 4th orders are great sounding boxes and are super efficient. a correct 6th order can be way better overall if done right. but if done wrong it can be a complete waste of money. check out the12volt.com and go to the enclosures part and read up on what he has to say. its a little more in depth
  19. i just looked at that. looks like a good suggestion, if not the only one the op has. id defintely keep that one in mind if i were him
  20. I was hoping 2k and a 15 :/ well getting an amp that will do 2k cleanly is gonna cost you close to 400 if not more. the crecendo bc2k is one of the cheaper amps ive found that does rated power. and it is 300 shipped. so you might have to find some used stuff or decrease your expectations.
  21. what kind of power are you looking for? obsidian makes some pretty good budget subwoofers. that are pretty strong. also the DC level 2 is a strong sub that is budget friendly. i believe they have seen close to 800rms daily. amp wise. the hifonics stuff is decent as well as obsidian stuff produced some pretty good numbers. idk how much the DC 1.2 k is but it will do plenty of power for the price
  22. 7700wrms at 1ohm, 14.4v saw this on another forum. hopefully its right
  23. i would go more like 20 -25 per usually you go more on bandpasses because most sound is going through the port
